We were all told something we already knew quite some time ago..

Pet magery is completely borked. A pet will throw spells far above their magery, no matter what. Kinda makes worthless the loss of .1 skills on death (should be much more..like 1.0 instead of 0.1). (I have 2 PvP tamers so don't EVEN start to whine board babies) :sad3:

We were promised that this known issue would be addressed..oh..about 2 years ago..if memory serves me right? Maybe longer? :scholar:

So..just a reminder Devs..we still look to you to fulfill your promises and obligations..when it comes to completely broken stuff..like Pet magery and LUCK. :thumbup1:

yeah not a good idea, my dragon has gone from 124ish skill to 108 from dying so many times.. he wouldnt have any magery left if it was 1.0 per death..

also they dont seem to gain it back very fast :(

It's ALL MONSTERS with magery - not just pets.

However, wild monsters tend to fizzle more (but still not comparable to what they'd do if a PC caster was trying with the same amount of magery)

That is true Basra...

Issue is that it was an admitted shortcoming and it was promised to be repaired.

I don't know about you but I tend to hold people to their promises, and when someone in my company promises something, I make sure it is done. It is an honor thing.

Who actually made that promise? Are you allowing for the fact that the current team may not know it exists?

Does it involve cake and fireworks? Because if you don't have cake and fireworks I wont /sign it when you do make it! :p

I don't really see the "Point" with changing the way monster magery works... Monsters are already soloable so.... not really a viable option there, so we're left with pets... Pet's in general need to be rebalanced. Is it going to happen? probably not.

Like Basara says, all mobs with magery does this.

Focus range of magery is 50 iirc, so it's +/-25 skill.

It's as if as long as the mob has enough skill to cast a certain spell within the focus range (even with 0.1 chance), it can cast it without fizzling.

As to fizzling, I can't be sure if mobs fizzle at all or the same way as players. How do you tell?

I rarely hear the "fart" sound, and when I do, it could have been the mob trying to re-curse/weaken/clumsy/feeble mind me while I am still under the effects of a prior curse.

Maybe when mobs fizzle, they just immediately re-select a different spell to cast.

This seems to happen only to magery though. -1.0 for death might be a bit harsh as it affects other skills. I'd rather they fixed magery for mobs.

why does it matter?

its a feature.. if the mob can cast flame strike, bet your ass he will do it 10 times in a row.. run like hell...

making monsters like LL fizzle spells will only make them weaker.. why do we need that?
