Legal or Illegal to share the patched KR Client?

Is it legal to share a fullpatched KR Client for the people or is it illegal.

The fact is the offical download is old and more than 2h patching @ DSL 4 Mbit after downloading the client, also the EA Mirror is very slow. So i have uploaded a fullpatched Client to my server, Trafficflatrate, standing in Europe, so i guess it is no problem to handle the traffic. But i want to know, it is a free downloadable client, but are iam allowed to share it?

Thanks for help! Maybe also offical statement will be nice!

I thought about starting up a KR torrent but I don't feel like seeding it until it takes off on it's own and I am not a KR supporter in general so to do the work for a client I really can't stand doesn't make sense.

Plus the legality of it is questionable I remember the fuss over UO Gold being placed on freeshard pages so I doubt it would be a good idea.

Isn't the KR client a free download? I mean, why would they care? It saves them a big chunk of bandwidth if someone doesn't have to download it, then download all the patches.

I'd say the integrity of the files would be the biggest concern... the LAST thing you would want is to have people downloading an infected client.

This isn't a dig at Lucitus as without his help, the UI mods wouldn't be where they are now, and his stuff has been completely clean.

This is a statement in general which is why he's asking the question.

if you have to ask it most likely is ...

the client EXE is not the only item patched in these runs ...

like someone else points out, it is free. altho it would be nice if EA posted more up-to-date clients every so often.

Yep, a more updated client download would be very nice!

Although I prefer and play the 2D client, players that would like to try KR would certainly appreciate shorter patch times.

The EXE files are tiny... it's the animation UOP files that are the bulk of the size of the client (due to using the old 2d method of animation with higher framerates and more detail).
