Lava fishing - bad luck or hidden changes?

I got 3 lava fish from 2 lava poles on january at 110 skill.
I burned 3 lava poles for zero fish today at 110 skill.

Is it bad luck or lava fishing changed since pub 70?

Its bad lucK . Sometimes i get Lava fish fast and sometimes it can take a while.I Also have 110 skill.

If its bad luck then what do you do.

You won't know at 3 poles and if it was a secret, how would you know anyway.

Something like that isn't hidden.
