Last night’s hunting (without scripters)

It was nice to be able to hunt in the dojo without all the scripters all over. They were out of commission because of the update to the clients blocking their software. Of course, it will only be a matter of days before the scripting software is updated, so they will be back at it. It would be nice if the developers released updates every few days to block their software during an event like this.

The once farming TOT's doesnt need anything ellse then UO. No other programs needed :(

They should be up and running by now. ;) and all you have to do is not accept the update from EA and nothing changes for the scripters fyi.

why you don't page a gm?
is very easy... page -> phisical harassment -> "There is a scripter here!" -> target

I do that few days ago and the scripter is disappeared after few minutes (forever, I didnt see him anymore...) :)

well I've done the proper paging on 4 scripters at a Bajan house (yes 4 going at it day and night for months)...I never see a difference made. Only way a scripter is stopped is if they die in rl and the visa stops getting paid.

You seeing things. Most scripters don't bother patching untill the new version is out. The dojo= no script needed at all just UO.

Unfortunately they can save a back up of the client and bypass the patcher if they are sly. I saw a script miner last night.

Which raises a nice question...

Can the devs prevent players from playing any client but the last one?

You would think it would be an easy thing to fix so that anytime it verifies your password it also verifies client version. If client isn't current then you don't get to log-in.

It used to, some time ago. I don't know when that changed, though.

Only with large publishes but many people have problems patching to UO as well as uoassist needs time to get fixed so many regular players are out of the loop while the problem is fixed. So in reality whats worse to have legitamite players not able to log in to UO untill they solve the problems or to knock out scripters for 1-2 days?

This. Updating for the sake of updating = bad

I'm not an advocate of daily patches... that is only a short term solution. Legitimate players can fix the UOAssist problem by moving the macro files, but really shouldn't have to.

But then again, That's not a problem with KR! ;)
