Large value sales question

EDIT: Err, that title should read "Large" not "Last", but I can't work out how to change the title.


I hope it's okay to post this here, as I realise this isn't the the trade forum:

I've not been active in UO for many years, and so am totally out of the loop on security. When I last played, the maximum you could pay safely for anything was £125m (or, in practice, £124m and even that was a real pain), so for larger amounts brokers were needed.

Is this still the case, or has this now improved? I've been up to my old tricks this afternoon, so now want to make sure I can sell it safely. Inflation seems to have gone through the roof!

If brokers are still being used- any recommendations?

Brokers still being used, most people on Europa will pick someone who played for a long time and is known to the different communities. Else you can find a lot of brokers from other shards aswell. If you trade rares you can pick many of the big Rare Collectors to help out. Castles and such you normally find a trusted player on Europa just to broker it.

Thanks.. amazing that after all these years, anda dramtatically different economy, that they haven't changed the system to cater for larger sums!

1. never accept trades of pack animals loaded with checks, specially inside a multi floor building (luna bank)
2. use xfer token for trades, or similiar items on a vendor (they retain their value for the most part better than other items)
3.like ET said, find somebody both trust to broker
-anyone involved in large amounts of trades /high values frequently with a decent stratics post history is less likly to scam you - this doesnt guarantee anytyhing, as people are people.
IMHO 2.) is your "safest" option - nobdy gets scammed, and if you do, you at least end up with an item likly to sell for the same price you spent on it.

Aha! got it, and those tokens are blessed as well, so safe for Fel trades.

also a small tip, happened to me once:
If the going rate for most xfer tokens are 25M use 25M - I agreed on a 3 M lower porice for a trade, turned out he already secured buyers for the xfer so he ended up with cheap tokens and I with a no sale....
