Lance Dismount

Why doesn't it work anymore? %^&^#$

Is this a nerf? Was there really too many people running around with lances?

well way back in the days before it was nerfed you could ride a nightmare, have your WW in tow and dismount people while you stayed mounted. then 'all kill' and you could try to block them.

since this was getting totally out of hand they nerfed it so that you could only dismount people who had also equipped a lance. dismounting chars without a lance required you to dismount yourself...

that way lances got pretty useless, but i think it is a little better than the overpowered lance-tamers we had before that...

Big problem with lances was the fact you could cast and still swing, so most people would do one of two things:

Dismount, wither/conc spam

or

Dismount

Holylight/conc spam

You used to be able to. Thankfully they nerfed that many years ago as well.

Contrary to popular belief, it wasn't everyone. It was me and I killed everyone on the shard. But that was old news (5 or more yrs ago). Now it's just stealth, NS, NS, DS whoopee!! At least when i was killing everyone I never had to hide

Corwin was pretty deadly with it; I was in the process of turning a red tamer account of mine into the same thing when i quit. I can no longer remember the info for the account; the name was "Jack Daniels".

No. That nerf came afterwards when everyone was using ninja wolf form and using bushido lightning strikes, so they nerfed ninja animal forms.

Corwin was the only person i can remember doing this who was any kind of a pvp factor but i was running a 3/6 (before the magery casting cap) parry mage with full faction blessed runic armour and even with the pet warp bug had no problem surviving against it. Wulf ran it as a chiv dexxer but again parry mage with over cap casting laughed at pretty much anything back then, you could fight 4-5 dexxers without ever taking damage (lol swamp dragon armour). The funniest thing was abusing the heavy crossbow dismount bug which Bushmaster ran too perfection, you could hit a moving shot at someone then right before the arrow hit use a dismount/toggle special macro to dismount someone on the full run, good times

I ran 3/4 casting witha blessed arcane in the early days of aos and I was one of the few mages that had no fear of darkness' axe of heavens bs template; Corwin also never gave me much problem but he did actually know how to play a mage and control his pet.

Yeah 3/5 was awesome, i also had an arcane shield i would faction bless from time to time for 4/5 now that was insane you could kill a dexxer before they got close enough to land a blow

Dryad bow with 175 stam was another personal favourite, shooting on the full run !
