Lag?

Anyone else experiencing lag? Haven't seen other posts, so I'm wondering if its me.

Me, for the last few weeks or so.

I usually ping about 93-100ish on Siege but now it it´s at least 125 at best but most times 170-235. The "step step freeze" game is just no fun...

I have but I cannot get a very fast ping anyways. My latency never gets better than 250 anyhow...unless its very late at night or very early in the morning. I can sometimes scrape under 200.

My lag just started tonight.. I had been running fine otherwise. I mean before tonight it would lock up for a second every 30-45 seconds (at the same time as others in my vent so it's not my computer).

Tonight I have been pinging 120-150 all night.

The problem starts at electronic.car3.washington1.leve13.net so I'm not sure if it's an EA Server Issue.

Just log'd back on and she is in Skara Inn, and it's under invasion. LOL Had to log real quick, fire ele was right there! Worked her good tonight to get some gold, and I'll lose everything.

Made a thief thinking I'd play her when this lag was going on, Rico is always talking about it and thought she'd be safe stealing some rares from chests. Now the invasion....LOL, how could I have known!

I'm pinging high to all east coast servers. West coast don't seem to be affected...

Anyone confirm they are hanging up on the same server I am?

Lynk, it's an issue with Level3.

Each of the major net backbone providers (sprintnet, AT&T, Level3, Alter.Net, and others) has their own "gateways" into the EA router/switch network. Sometime's they're named to indicate the customer being linked into, sometimes not.

In either case, it's an issue with that carrier, not EA or your ISP, when they have a router or switch that is being cantankerous. It might get fixed quicker if EA is the one complaining about it, though.

So, if you feel like reporting it to EA, point out the problem spot, and ask them politely to report it to Level3 (or whichever net is giving the issue) to get the problem handled. Because if it's affecting you, it's also affecting every other EA user (be it UO, DaoC, WAR or other online game) that is hitting the same machine prior to EA's entry port.

In fact, the most persistant problems that EA has of this type is WITH Level3 & Alter.net . Sprint & AT&T (perhaps because of their ancestry in phone companies, and customer service) are a lot more on the ball when it comes to catching these issues themselves and fixing them in a timely manner. I know there's at least one company that's a perennial problem for the Europa & Drach players in Europe, and they have a lot less choice.
