Lady Melisande and Slayers

Ok... so I'm a mage and I want to know something...

Fey Slayer works against Lady Melisande and I know this is true but, being that the pixie swatter is the only item I can think of with this slayer property (other than maybe a... instrument if I remember correctly?)

several years after the release of Mondains Legacy... I find the info on this... what I would expect to see on the day of launch. Disappointing is to say the least...


So... to get to the point.

I've heard reports that she's undead (necro) that she's demon... that because she's humanoid... repond.


I've used undead - no dmg increase... nada

I'm about to test Demon and Repond but speaking with those out here while we gather the keys... both repond and demon are told to me to also be useless... and that the only slayer that works is Fey.


Is this correct... and why aren't other classes of character allowed access to a slayer that will work against her.

Mel is a Dryad, so only Fey will work, at least that I've been able to tell.

So... why wouldn't Repond slayer... work?

Because they're not humanoid, just humanoid-like.

I'd say they were more like fairies and such than humans. Just like Pixies are a humanoid type creature, they're not, they're Fey.

Because Dryads are in actuality a forest spirit rather than living flesh. They're skin is as hard as bark (Because that's what it is). Repond applies to warm-blooded humanoids. Lizmen are humanoid in shape, but not warm-blooded, so it does not apply to them, but Reptile does. Dryads are sap-blooded. lol.

Fey Slayer is only found on the Pixie Swatter, while Wolf Slayer is only found on Misericord.

I've tried repond and it doesn't make any difference. Unsure about a mage slayer tali. That should work on her too but eh...

It sure seemed like my repond slaying bow with no mods did seem to get more damage than my similar, non-repond slaying bow. Or maybe I was just overly optimistic.

By "classes" ... you mean macers ? Thieves? Crafters?

Has no-one been able to "slay" her yet ?

seems that 2-3 HAVE ... just saying ... err ... asking ... you mentioned a "group" that you were questioning ...
I'm asking: are you looking for solo advice?

Like i said before, Fey Slayer is the only Slayer that works on Mel. No other Slayer does. Pixie Swatter has UBWS, so a Swordsman/Fencer could use it, as well as a Macer (Since Scepter is innately a Macing Wep), however Archers cannot use it.

Please tell me Im wrong but I believe a few months ago(6+) they removed all slayers from peerless. I know at one time I did use a pixie swatter on Mel with perfection I was hitting for over 120 on crits but no more.

Yeah... and being that-that slayer is only available to the melee class of character...

well you can use melee vs mel, its just the least perfered method of doing it. we used to take a trio of melee warriors with their fey slayers and smack her down, just xhealing. Sure, you get discorded and she jumbles you up, but it is doable.

But must easier with tamers and mage/archers as backup. As a archer you don't have to worry about mel if a nice tamer is using their pet as a tank while you plink plink away.
