Greetings all you wonderful people of Great Lakes.

Many of the readers know I work for a plastic surgeon in real life. This saturday I am having a little " tune up " so there will be no obit column this sunday as I will be resting in bed with a binder on and watching dvd's. Gotta look super hot for the new guy.
Actually it's for me. It is never a good idea to have plastic surgery for someone else.

Please keep the screenshots coming as there will be an obit column on 1/27/08

Growing old gracefully is easy for a guy to say, lol.

Actually I have no problems getting older. I just want to refine old age as I go along. * wink * All the 35 year old guys I know still like thier 35 year old women to be perky, if ya know what I mean.

Wow in your 30s and you need a tune up, I’m in my 40s and I don’t feel the need for a tune up now or in the near future. That seems young to want or need plastic surgery. It is sad the way women in our society are made to feel about growing older. I hope you get the results you are looking for and have a speedy recovery.

You have to remember I work in the business and what I am doing is minor and will be back to work on monday, just two days of rest.
If I did not work in this field I probably would not have had anything done at this point. For one it is free. I do have very strong feelings however about this topic as far as how women and society makes them feel about thier appearance.

I could go extreme and say women should not even wear/put make up as they are all beautiful naturally and not to wear perfume as they all have a natural personal unique scent but I won't even go there. Nor there is no need to color, dye/highlight hair. Gray is naturally beautiful on all women, lol.

Since this is an off topic thread more or less it's not a bad topic for the ladies on the board to comment on.

Though I would never voice this at the work place my personal thoughts on ANY type of implants being put in your body unless medically needed is scary. All implants are long term NOT permanent and need to be replaced, and if done at a young age ( 20s ) probably 4 or 5 times in a life time.
This goes for chin implants, cheeck implants, ect ect. Certain types need to be replaced more often than others. I would never be augmented or have an implant.

I was raised in the midwest and I know a lot of GL players are from or living in the midwest and they are more conservative on this topic. I live in southern California where it is common place, talked about often and the norm.

80% of the women I know get botox and restylane and look better for it. Both are safer than gettting a tattoo and not permanent either.
Now don't get me wrong.......there are very sick people and bad doctors that go overboard ( michael jackson, melanie griffith, meg ryan and recently heather locklear to name a few ).

Well that sounds like a boob job to me, I don’t recall too many other body parts men refer to as perky. If I had strong feelings on something I wouldn’t go against them because something was free or because I worked there. Just my opinion and since you posted it I’m sure you expected to get those. Like I said hope it goes well for you.

In my opinion plastic surgery for any non medical reason or for reasons of keeping someone from looking like a literal freak = superficial. Taking ones natural non freakish appearance and carving it up just seems shallow and wrong. Hell, my hair line is starting to recede at age 35(ive lucked out and kept most of it in contrast to the other men in my family) but im not about to have some quack cut some hair of my ass and paste it on my head. To each their own but I guess this thread shows just what kind of society we live in. I hope it works for ya Lava, Ive seen a couple pics youve posted of yourself in the past and I think its butchery that a normal lokking person such as yourself would feel the need to go under the knife for vanities sake or the sake of a job.

I was not referring to myself in the perk department, lol. I am happy with my level of perkiness just fine.

I was just making a statement that most 35 year old men ( all the ones I know ) would prefer a 35 year old perky woman as aposed to a non perky 35 year old.

It would be foolish indeed for anyone to get cosmetic surgery unless they truly wanted it and were aware of the possible risks.

And EVERY time a woman goes under the knife, she ALLOWS society to dictate what their appearance should be. Soon enough, there will be billions and billions of 90 year olds running around with perky breasts and erections but not be able to remember what to do with them. lol

Interesting topic. Hope you are pleased with the results and recover quickly Lava! It's comforting that you know the surgeon personally and trust them.

You're definitely right about it being more the norm in California. We lived there for 3 years and if we still lived there, I'd probably have makeup on to take out the garbage. That's just the way it is on the west coast. But I don't agree that botox makes a person look better. Nothing says over 40 like a fat, stiff upper lip.

I prefer the subtle scent of lotion to cologne (despite the name of my character).
I've never dyed my hair (except for one tragic incident with a bottle of Sun In). And I keep the makeup for special occasions. Don't want plastic surgery, even though I could probably use it. Doesn't make me better or worse than anyone else, just an opinion. Good topic though!

As you know my dear friend I work for a plastic surgeon that is here in the desert and he has an office in Beverly Hills also.

A true "board certified" plastic surgeon would NEVER use botox in the lip area. Botox should only be used on the crows feet and the forehead.

What I refer to as " trout Lips ' or Pladypuss lips " is usually done by implants, fat transfers or WAY TOO MUCH restylane injected to the lip boards. A good plastic surgeon would never do that to a patient. I see a lot of that here in California and I find it scary.

To set a few peoples minds at ease I am have a little liposuction. Most of us girls have "trouble areas" and no matter how much we exercise or diet they don't go away, lol.

Many women hold extra fat in thier saddle bag areas, inner/outer thighs or above and below their bra strap. Come on girls....you know what I mean.
I have the luxury of having those areas perfect or almost perfect so I take advantage of it.

With any procedure you should consult three different doctors before you let anyone, cut, inject or laser your body in any way.

[/ QUOTE ] very true!!! Also never leave out any of your medical history, or meds you take, even over the counter meds. A neighbor few years ago lost his wife to liposuction, because she left out some of her medical history, and meds she was on, By doing this it cost her, her life.
Best Wishes to you Lady Lava. and hurry back !!!!

Shows what I know about botox...nothing! lol I knew it had to be something making them look all freaky in the lip area, that area between the upper lip and the nose too. It looks all swollen and deformed on some of the people I see on TV. Oh well, guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Good luck again and come back all babe-like

1. The blue tinge to your vision is a permanent side effect
2. Priapism requires an injection or two into your little man.

Also.. there are other uses of botox. I've ordered it once to get someone to see more comfortably (as opposed to double & painful).

I'm with Alvinho on this topic, however.

I wanted to lose weight, I ate less and excersized? If you sit at a desk all day, I can see why you'd have these "trouble areas". Oh, I got off the computer too, that helped.

63 gone, 27 to go.

Good luck.

Even personal trainers who are patients of ours that have amazing toned bodies still cannot even out or refine certain parts of their bodies and get liposuction.
Liposuction IS NOT a weight lose procedure it is a body contouring procedure.
I am not nor never have been over weight myself, a lot of that has to do with genes. I have been lucky that way.

A percentage of our patients are people who have gone through gastric bypass surgery. They are now no longer over weight but have huge masses of flesh that hangs. I have a lot of compassion for these people. Never having a weight problem myself their personal stories are compelling and have made me realize how hard it is for people with these issues. As you know most americans are overweight and on the high end of the BMI chart.

Congratulations on your weight lose Zynia!

I love it that there are other medical people playing uo.
Is the blue tinge to the vision true? I have never heard that but then again at my age I do not know anyone that uses it, lol. Or at least that I know about.

Btw, VIDMA asked me to give you her regards.

I was going to become a surrogate, is what prompted my "journey". However I was one BMI over the limit to carry, within two weeks I was allowed to although that did not work out. So I kept going lol. After my ex and I broke up (real life) was a rough time in my life to the point where I turned to food for comfort, yeah barf lol. But eating cans of frosting and crying or ben and jerry's wasn't acceptable anymore. So I got off the computer, got a job, and I'm still trucking.

Maybe in 27 more lbs I'll post before and after pictures with you, Lava.
