KR client - does anybody actually use this piece of sh

This is not exactly a warrior forum question per se but I am getting nothing but glowing reviews of KR in the KR forum so I want to direct this to the real players so this is the place I come for good answers.

I have been using the 2D client just like old days. So this week I finally decided to go through the huge hassle of installing KR (they REALLY don't make it easy). Well I have found it to be the worst piece of crap client to date. Well, not quite as bad as the old 3D but close. I can't see enemies or players very well, everything just sort of mushes in with the background. This includes in the woods and in dungeons. Half the time everything turns neon yellow which I'm told is a glitch, but actually that is the only time I can half see the monsters. The movement is blocky and awkward, the graphics make the 2D client look exceptionally modern, there are weird glitches all over, the map is crap and UOAM doesn't work.

So my question is, do any of you guys actually use this client? Is it really just a learning curve and settings and eventually I will learn to love it? Am I just too old and my eyes are bad that I can't see anything? I can't imagine you can do any PvM or PvP with KR, and I assume you guys all use 2D. Can anyone comment?

You betcha! I can't stand the 2d client after playing on UOKR. I love it! I'm hoping Stygian Abyss will be even better.

Play UOKR for a month and then revert back to 2d...then you'll really see how old the 2d client is.

Some people can't understand why people play UOKR. I don't understand why anyone would play 2d when UOKR is available.

But it's still UO and I'm glad the options are there for all of us to choose what we like for ourselves

It took me awile to get used to the interface and how to set up the macros and manuever in game but once I learned it grew on me and now I love the UOKR client. No going back to 2d for me. Onward...forward.

About every 6mths or so, I download and patch KR to give it another try. And I always delete it again, disappointed. I just can't get along with it, and find it very unstable compared to 2d. I've also noticed, from the KR forum, that you require a qualification in IT to set the damn thing up, especially if you're running Vista. I don't want a game that takes that amount of faffing about to set up. I want to download it and play it!

I wish I could get along with it, and I read the tutorials and all sorts of things to help, and I still delete it. I'll keep trying it, because the guild I run is for new players and, atm, I can only help those with 2d to set up macros etc - I have to get a guildie with KR to help the others. If you're determined to persist, I recommend the haven helpers website as Paidric has written some excellent tutorials on how to use it, set up macros, that sort of thing.

I use it, and love it. Just play it a while and you will get used to the difference in 'seeing' things.

I use it strictly for crafting. 2D can't compare to the ease of KR when making potions or doing quests in Heartwood. I'd play KR exclusively if they ever fixed the random crash bug.

Exactly I use it for crafting there is no comparing 2d and kr in this area I also use it to flesh out my characters armor, to hit,reflect etc

Not been a fan boy of KR. But I only run KR, with optional 2d graphs on it of course. I love the bags and the macros. I believe is the system your running it in. I have no problems with lagg etc. KR still bugged though very much so.
