Kotl Automaton Assemblies - a little help if you have time.

I seem to be missing something here. I have tried three times to construct one of these beasts. I have used Valorite ingots on one and Verite ingots on two others. Each time I have built them, using these coloured ingots, I have ended up with Iron Automaton heads and not Valorite or Verite ones. Is there something else I must do, other than choose the coloured ingots in the tinkering menu, before crafting? The coloured ingots in my pack do get used up in the making of it but I end up with an iron head instead of the desired one.

I know that it can be done, Petra had one of her beasties at Brit Bank last night.

Any thoughts?

When I made mine, I did the following:

1.) Selected Valorite from the crafting menu
2.) Clicked craft automaton head
3.) When it asked me to target which resource to use, I clicked on the valorite ingots.

Don't know any more than that unfortunately.

I targeted the appropriate resource on the first two occasions. On the third I ensured that I only had Verite ingots in my pack. I am baffled.

it specifically asks you which resource (ingots) you want to make the automation out of, all you need do is target the stack of Valorite or Verite ore.

unless your bugged....
may be time to call a GM?

Oh Petra, you are a treasure. I think you may have the answer. I took mining off my crafter do drop onto my treasure hunter. Bless you!

Sadly no luck, 100 mining on the tinker character now and I get another Iron headed robot. Time for a help call I think.

This is the solution. I had been making deco items for my castle and the tool was set to "Do not colour"

Even if it they are grey in colour, the army of automatons I have built are made of Verite and Valorite though...If I used Valorite ingots to make a plate suit but chose not to colour it would it come out as having the same properties as Iron @Kyronix ?

Can you not lore them to see the properties or have someone lore them on the ones you have made already?

Thanks for the replies. All of the automatons were lored and all had the stats/resists of an iron automaton despite being made of verite/valorite.

A salutory lesson indeed...check your tools before starting work!

I have my verite one crafted now and I guess there is always more ore in the Sosarian mines.
