Keep Suddenly Improperly Placed - Should I Worry?

only issue should be if you decide for some reason to tear it down, you may not be able to replace it.

No, you don't need to worry
As Victim has said, it only affects you if you choose to drop the house and re-build.

King of Swamp Castle: When I first came here, this was all swamp. Everyone said I was daft to build a castle on a swamp, but I built in all the same, just to show them. It sank into the swamp. So I built a second one. That sank into the swamp. So I built a third. That burned down, fell over, then sank into the swamp. But the fourth one stayed up. Unfortunately that happens. It even happened to my New Magincia house (Plot SW4).

It happens often due to the stairs, which are added to custom houses after placement behind your house and suddenly reduce the distance between both houses to 4 pieces.

I'm just wondering are a rule of thumb when placing a house? Like it has be x spaces from another home or something.

5 tiles to each North and South side, 1 tile to left and right. Stairs are not counting until the house is placed.

I'm wondering if perhaps it's the surrounding terrain that has changed recently as I haven't had any neighbors since I've had the keep.

Well i can tell you that I know that spot becuase I know that on my shard Europa there is a keep on the trammel side. But on the feluccia side it was open, but I was unable to
place a keep in the same location. Which tells me that for some reason the ability to place a keep in that area changed over time. Like others have said just do not lift the keep, because
the chances are, that you will not be able to place it again. But it should be fine even though it says its improperly placed on the house sign. Interesting location btw.

this is exactly it.
something has changed with the terrain that has now made it improper.
ive had this happen before as well.
all it means is if you take it down you wont get it to go back up.
i think when i had this happen it was a little twig tree and a slight swelling of the ground that was graphically changed that then changed the status of my place.

just dont ever drop it and it wont be a issue.
