“Word has come from my spy within Blackthorn’s court. A new magic has been discovered, a magic that can be of great advantage in battle either making armor more resistant or granting additional magical protection that can turn away a deadly strike.
The Britannian government is publically denying any such discovery but privately forbidding the sale of the new magic to anyone and demanding all merchants “donate” any discoveries to the Royal Treasury for safe guarding. The merchants are to keep any such materials found in strong boxes until a royal official from Blackthron’s court arrives to claim them…
M'lord we simply can't allow Britannia to monopolize the market especially since Blackthorn’s designs remain unknown. I am asking for legal sanction to acquire these ingredients.”
Lore paused, digesting all Nonel had reported "I do not like it…but I do not disagree. There is a reason you have such leeway in running the Order of Investigation, Infiltration and Acquisition. First I trust you, both your judgement and heart. Second I'd prevent you from doing what needed to be done if I had my hands in such matters... though I appreciate you coming to me before acting.
If it must be done to protect the citizens of our land and perhaps all lands of Sosaria, then I will not stand in your way. Make a detailed record of any merchants who we have stolen, and make sure they are both compensated for the losses and protected should Britannia deciedes to “punish” them for losing the classified materials. With those strictures in mind, you have my blessing to proceed."

Lore continued, a smile passed his lips for an instant but he continued speaking without acknowledging the comment, “In the meantime I’ll lead an expedition into the wilds to discover where the ingredients are originating… Lord Romus, Wolf and Lady Olivia have come across a few maps which may help lead us in the right direction.”
