Just noticed..

My post count was reset since stratics went down months ago, when we had to recreate our screen names to post on the temporary forums. Well now I notice some peoples names and post counts restored to the original. But my hasn't, Whats the deal?

It's been posted, several times.

Some of the info got a little messed up. The immediately-linkable accounts (same contact info for both) were done very early. The ones that were more difficult require a request. For example, your original names probably didn't have a period at the end of it like your current one does.

There's a stratics email address you contact, sending your old account name and new one, and information that will link you to both, and they will import your old post totals, and get you access to many of your older posts for editing, etc.

One thing to do is check and see if your old name exists as "imported_(oldname)" If it does, it will be even easier for them to import. And, if you ask nicely, they'll even change any typoes in your screen name (like that period you probably didn't intend in it currently)

no the period was intentional, as it was also in my character name in the game, but now you can no longer add periods with name changes. So my screen name is exact. I'll do as you instructed, thank you.

Eventually, that period will go away, I think. There are certain characters that cause problems with the coding for some of the secondary functions, and all the unallowed characters will eventually be changed. Poor T'Amon, my Players Corner fellow moderator, had 3 or 4 characters get changed as a result of the changes, as said issues affected mod abilities even more than user-level ones.
