Just had a major game screwup at 2:45 am est & lost items.

I was decorating a new tower and decided to move a fountain of life I had just placed. The fountain vanished and my characters beetle, still showing bonded, refuses to let him get in it's pack or ride it. I could not move any items in his pack. Restarting the client didn't help. Resetting the computer now has my characters pack empty of all deco items and the beetle still refuses to obey, like just he reverted. The house deco was still there up to the fountain vanishing. This is with the classic client.

I'd go with Freja's suggestion. What happens if you attempt to tame the beetle?
If it is still tame, feed it. If it's not wild yet, repeated disobeyed commands will soon ensure that it becomes so.

Taking out the EA folder in My Documents and starting the client without it has the beetle working and the backpack looking right. Something must have scrambled part of it.

Did lose the fountain but that's not a big deal since I have four others and I think one of those 19 Heritage Tokens I have can replace it if I decide I want it back.

Not a good scene to run into at three in the morning. I'd just carpeted a room and set up the beds then went out in the hall to place the fountains along the side of the stairs to the roof and things suddenly get strange.

I needed to update my macro setup anyways. They were old and very simple ones.

Tanivar, if the Fountain had anything in it when you redeeded it, it should have gone into barrel form. Otherwise, it will go back to deed form. Did you check the moving crate to see if it ended up there?

Had you already tried to move it last night before when it disappeared? If yes, what did it do when you re-deeded it the previous times? Also, did you have the fountain turned to be east-facing when you re-deeded it, or was it in the original south-facing orientation? And what kind of carpet were you laying? Was it the squares you purchase from the Ter Mur NPC and lock down, or the ones from Heritage tokens? Were you attempting to place the fountains on top of carpet?

All 5 had been facing east and were empty when re-deeded to tickets. I placed them in the matching location in the new tower and re-deeded I believe the forth one. I had an empty arcane bookshelf and vanity both of which went to barrels. The carpet was from Ter-Mur and went into the large 3rd floor Tower room. The fountains go lined up along the stairway to the roof. The Tower they came from did not have carpeting on the third floor.

The moving crate text on the sign is greyed out so it's empty.

I've had items stop mid move before then vanish and been unable to move any other item in any container until I logged out and back in. Some of those items have stayed vanished, some reappear and can be moved again. A new design feature we have since the long maintenances were done.

I love it, I unsecured and axed the four fountains to see if the fifth was stacked in with them somehow. They didn't change to barrels. I got four deeds in his backpack and the bandages on the floor where each fountain had been.

Don't you just have to love it. <g> sheesh
