An edited informal secondary text-based summary...or, why am I still doing this quest?

Need:
Terathan Cuticle Sac--any Terathans
Raw Yeast--any Orcs
Blightborn Slime--Blightborn Slimes (Swamp south of Destard, Brit Sewers)
Sack of Sugar--any Paragon, random chance on corpse
Vanilla--any Paragon, random chance on corpse, or spend a week growing Vanilla

Cure:
Use the correct amount of each of the five ingredients @ northern Ter Mur dock. If you fail, you'll eventually blow everything up. There are at least six states prior to blow up:

The reaction bubbles harmlessly
The reaction bubbles and is becoming slightly unstable
The reaction bubbles and is becoming increasingly unstable!
The reaction bubbles and is becoming surpassingly unstable!
The reaction bubbles and is becoming exceedingly unstable!
The reaction bubbles and is becoming dangerously unstable!

At this point I said, "**** that, I'm not getting more sugar if this thing blows up."

start with one of each ingredient, make a note of the result. 11111=?​

add one - 21111 = If the number is less than the first item, empty the flask. You now know the first number is 1​

if the number stays the same you know the 1st number is not 1, nor 2, add a third.​

if the number increases, congrats you've found your first number, add one of the 2nd ingredient etc.​

Just make sure you are quick about it or else your station will reset:

"Your experiment is lost due to inactivity."

I only start with the lab benches that give 3 or 4 correct from the start when you add the 5 first ingredients. There plenty of them to move around on.

I like this puzzle , its a little like a Mastermind puzzle. Not too hard ones you figure out a good system to do it.

You find a station, dbl-click the Flask above the Heating Stand, target your first item of the five above, then keep going until you have all five. If your order is correct I guess you get the cure to give to the main NPC there? If you fail, you have to double click the tongs immediately. If you try to figure out the formula on paper or a spreadsheet or something and let the ingredients sit they could poof.

The good thing, though, about the poof timer, is you can wait out a dangerously unstable and then eventually you'll get:

"Your experiment is lost due to inactivity."

Even if you've evacuated your ingredients. Which means everything is reset and you will go back to harmlessly on your next fail at that station. Also means you got to start over, but seems better than wasting that precious, precious sugar.

Anyone have any better ways of making this medicine go down? Seems less fun than the color puzzle @ Underworld.

Well, at least you can keep at it without losing any materials.

If any gargoyles wander near I empty the flask, if they stay too long I abandon that one and move. I lose time, but I don't lose resources.

lol all my complaining paid off, my second cure was made with 1/1/1/1/1 first shot, ;D used an upstairs lab bench ...oh gosh, now you know I have to use them every time

you know though, I got to say...there's something fishy about all this...why do we have our name on the item as if we are meant to keep them out of greed due to the namesake?...and why does this mysterious healer remind me of a shadowlord...

The name might be on it so the "Healer" can see who turned in the most and tell Queen Zhah.

So I'm behind the 8 ball here, the info on UO site said "July" so I waited until July for info (not remembering that Stratics always has info)...I've got some of everything but Vanilla, and have spent 3 days in Exodus Dungeon killing anything in my way - not one seed. Suggesstions anyone? I'd like to try this at least a couple times

If your on Cats I'll give you a seed... I do have an Alchemist that I keep meaning to try this.. but I started collecting ingredients and got all wrapped up. Killing Plague Beast to get Sugarcane seeds was hard with GM armor so I had to learn Imbuing.. blah blah blah..( Thanks Tina)

You can get Vanilla seeds on Exodus mobs inside Exodus Dungeon, also if you are on Chessy I can give you some . A friend gave me my first seed.

I go to Homare Jima at the Crane Marsh and kill Kappa's to get my sugar cane seeds. I use my seed box to identify them; you can use poppie seeds to do that too. I don't like the fact that the plant doesn't spawn seeds when you grow it so you will want to kill as many Kappa's as you can since the seed you get wil be random ( I think it's a 1 in 5 chance it will be a Peculiar Sugar Cane Seed).

@Rhaven Nightwisp Which shard are you on? I think we can probably find someone to let you have a few seeds, maybe enough to fill a garden bed.

I always hunt Kappa's till i get 10 sugar seeds a day. I'm pilling them up.
