  • A house auction system will allow you to buy and sell player-built buildings on the open market.
this was never added and while you werent working for uo during that time im blaming you! HA!
but on a serious note, we need this and the same for tamers to sell their pets,
heck why not a full system to sell anything/everything

Lets take it even further.

A vendor system that allows players to offer things to my vendors to sell to me. Or perhaps a way for me to advertise on my vendor that I want to buy (for example) 2000 Shadow Iron ingots, any player with said ingots can offer them to my vendor and be paid via cash/check from my vendors cash holdings.

The house system sounded great. Shame it never saw the light of day. Being able to sell pets via vendors would be great too.

The auction system would be great for UO period. Look how well player run auctions do. I can't believe they had the right idea and never ran with it.

So long as the AH system is run per vendor, and not globally linked, Id like it. The problem with global AHs is the single location.

Man, Ive got a million ideas for player run vendors and changes.

Yea......using system that work and make sense and popular aren't worth the time to code if another game got to them first. UO has to be original and all.

No new stuff. Fix whats broken!
for real, fix what needs fixing, don't add more problems.

besides with that very very popular uo search site that pretty much act's like a auction house. who cares if a script 'might' run it. it is very handy.
and already there.
the only people this site might hurt are unsavory players trying to overcharge and rip off other players. if your against it because it 'might' be a script thing ...get over yourselves and fight for something worth fighting for.

to bad they can't extend the search for the entire sosaria's vendors.

after all what you are 'really' looking for in a auction type system is a way to find and buy things as cheeply as possiable.

adding coma's in checks was a nice change, only change vendors need are coma's in pricing's.
and fix the discription when buying..

Part of the issue here is that player vendors and player run auctions are part of what makes UO, UO. But if EA could provide a global vendor search engine, similar to the one run by the-extremely-popular-site-that-shall-remain-nameless but covering all of Sosaria and legit, and maybe searchable in game at various locations, that would rock.

One of the biggest benefits is it would place vendors on that remote island in Felucca on almost the same footing as the prime locations in Luna. The problems in getting to these locations would still make the luna vendor houses the prime locations, but at it would ensure that a well stocked vendor, with good prices, in just about any location, would be viable.

edit: As for pets, you should be able to deed them and sell them on vendors. Just have deeded pets count toward stable slots to prevent it from becoming a way to store extra pets. You would also need to have some way of viewing the pet, so I would suggest a right click view option on the context menu which opens up a viewing window (a bit like a tmap) would be ideal.

To run with this a bit down stream.

I think the global (as in global to the shard) search engine would be a great tool to facilitate the movement of items.

I also think that if the gave us a Trader that could BUY items AND be included in that Global Search Engine that would be great.

So one could set up a Trader to sell things, one could set up a trader to buy things.

One could go to the search engine and search for what is being bought then search for what is being sold.

I accept this latter wont make some people happy, but if one could in fact sell/purchase the items via the search engine, then I am sure that would make some people happy.

The problem I see with this is the Real Life Currency players. This simply facilitates them buying something in game for cheap and selling it for Real Life Currency (either directly or indirectly) High.

Of course it could also work to totaly deflate them, if true supply is easily seen.

Global auctions take away the "play the market" aspect of the game that many people really enjoy (not just those who are making money off of it).

A way to set up auctions for houses and on player vendors would be nice though.

As somebody else mentioned, however, right now UO needs bug fixes, balancing, and storyline content more than new features.
