Jeremy...some Tamer Love?

Hi Jeremy, I was just wondering if something might be possible. As I have stated in another post I make my "online" living from taming, training and selling pets. Primarily CU's and now the new dragons. The only bad part about this is that sometimes I must stand at the bank spamming for hours to sell a pet. I have two ideas that to me anyway seem feesable.

#1 Add a "pet broker" to the luna stable.

#2 Be able to purchase a contract of employment for a pet vendor.

I love the way transfering a pet works now..when a pet is being offered you see a miniture of it in the trade window, and a discription of its name. I would be cool to be able to do the same thing with a "pet broker" or "pet vendor" when you put a pet on your vendor for sale the prospective buyer would see a miniture (to see color) but would then be able to lore the pet to be able to see all of its attributes. It could also be set up so that a person that does not have a high enough level to control a certian pet would be unable to buy it.

How wonderful it would be to be able to put 4 or 5 pets on your vendor to sell and still out taming or training others...instead of wasting hours spamming the bank. Not only wasting time spamming the bank...but also irritating everybody else around!

Good idea? Bad Idea? Impossible to do idea?

Thanks!

There's really no fix for this, as long as everyone is "self sufficient". IN the old days, yeah, people would flock to the bank area to buy pets, but when advanced characters and skill jewelry and soulstones came along, the interaction between players for pets, was no longer needed. Think back, if you've played that long, people didn't have to spam pets for very long before someone came along and bought one, today, you're wasting your time (except for the buyers of the new dragon).

I would contend most have ethy mounts nowadays as oppose to "the old days" and that is the reason there are few people that look for pets to buy. Add in the fact that pets don't die anymore once they are bonded and I'd almost go so far as to say interaction has nothing to do with jewls or advanced chars or soulstones...

Can see folks using it for stable slots.

[/ QUOTE ]This has been asked for by tamers for years, and this has always come up, and is always not true. What makes you think putting a pet on the broker wouldn't still take up one of your stable slots?

problem solved, next?

[/ QUOTE ]Really, where's the harm iffn I have 500 or more critters in my stables? It's not like I can use any more than my usual 5 follower slots at any one time.

Requirements such as pets are unbonded at the time they are deeded and must be redeemed in the presence of a stablemaster mean it's impossible for a tamer to have unlimited army of pets in their backpack since the deeded pets are not bonded and cannot therefore be summoned on the fly.

i could see how it might be abused for extra stable slots, it really does need to be implemented somehow though, tamers would seriously enjoy this. just some way to sell pets on a vendor for a price theyve determined

Would be easier if we had a few more stable slots, but as Petra rightly pointed out there are trade forums and auction sites that you can sell on.

If you want to sell pets at home, why not put their details in books and put on a vendor. Or stack them up in your house somewhere obvious. Once tamers know you sell pets, I'm not sure there's a need for vendors. But TBH, I'd prefer the devs spend their time elsewhere.

I mean, how many pets can one person hold and train at a time anyways? :p

I guess I just like having to meet players in game to trade, giving them advice if they want it, and often I pick up orders from their friends based on how I conduct myself. Get yourself known on your shard, and you really don't need a vendor

This would is just another way to eliminate Player Interaction. By placing a "Pet Selling Vendor", you would take away an essential avenue for new players to see the what taming has to offer and who they might be able to seek advice and/or assistance from.

I also sell tamed pets at the West Britain Bank. I do not think it is a waste of time. I have met many other players (tamers and non) and have been able to help them with their taming questions. To me, this is the best part of selling the pet, interacting with others, haggling price, and finding out what else they desire.

One of the things you can do is to compile some books about the pets you have to offer and place them on a normal player vendor, to initiate the dialogue to others. Try to take requests for future business as well, when you are at the bank.

I can see this potentially being a major hassle to implement, since it may require extensive mucking with the way the current stabling works. Which works just fine as it is now.

I have noticed (and this is not meant to be a poke at Mr. archite666), that every post in the forums has a "Play Siege Advertisement" somewhere in it. I really like that comradary displayed from the shard.

Mr. archite666, I have been playing on Siege for a few years now, just not as a tamer. You might meet me as a beggar or as a miner one day.

What type of pets are in need on Siege?

Lol gold

Just watch out for the dragons breath, something might get crispy. The Cu Sidhe's can make you bleed as well....

What about Silver serpents??? Sounds sorta like slang for a disease.

I just want a pet rezzing npc at the stable.

On the slower shards or at off times it can be a real pain to get a horse or beetle raised from the dead.
