I been looking for confirmation on if items from phase 1 can still be turned in once pub 53 starts. I know that points gathered from phase 1 can be used in phase 2 but I can't seem to find any information on being able to turn in phase 1 items during phase 2.

Anyone know?

A new set of turn-in items and rewards have been added to the existing turn-in system. These items are in addition to the Publish 52 items, and all points from Phase 1 can be used on Phase II items.
