This fest's goal is to expand the rares fest to draw in people outside of the rares community - crafters, PvPers, and other interests. The Traders' House auction is an idea new with this fest. Izumo Rares Festival Traders' House Auction Rules
What can be entered?
The Traders' House will therefore list items which are:
- high end suits and armor pieces (see note 1)
- high end weapons
- high end jewelery
- collections of crafting supplies
- player-created "art", with the definition of 'art' left to the creators
- "joke" items
- rares which have a limited market, are low or mid-level, or for whatever other reason would not be better sold on a vendor or in the silent auction
- pets (see note 2)
- houses (see note 3)
Player-written books, copies of event books, copies of seer books, and any copies of any other non-spawning books are highly encouraged. Authors and other artists, contact me if you would like a vendor for such items. Such vendors must *only* sell these items; use the other vendors for other items!
Notes:
- A limited number of mannequins are available. Sellers of suits are asked to provide their own mannequins.
- Pets are to be held by the owner. Full information regarding the pet, including its overall score, should be written in a book. EC and UOCraft scores are both permitted; please state which you are using. See item #1 for an example: http://community.stratics.com/threads/323522
- Houses are to be held by the owner. The house should set to public. Clearly state whether any items currently in the house would be included. If the house is on Izumo, a rune to the house should be provided. If the house is on another shard, the coordinates of the house plus contact information for the seller should be written in a book, and the seller should make him/herself available to interested bidders, in order to show the house. Once entered in the aucton, the house should not be sold outside of the auction.
Not permitted items:
- Any item which is 'illegal' under current UO rules.
- 'Scam' items which are not specifically identified as 'joke' items.
How to enter an item
- I will start to accept items for auction on Monday the 1st of December.
- Some point duing this week, I will place mailboxes at the Traders' House. Items may also be entered by leaving the bag in that mailbox.
- Items must be placed in a bag or backpack. That bag must include a book containing what you want described with the item, reserve price, buyout price (if any), and an ICQ number at which you can be contacted. As I cannot read Japanese or Korean; all item information must be in English. For items which require a book (pets, houses, etc), there should be two different books in the bag; one for the auction entry, one for public display.
- One bag+book *per* auction lot. Do not dump all your items into a single bag and book; it will be returned to you.
- 10 lots may be entered per person. If you have more than 10, let me know, and I will contact you if there is space.
- Once entered, items may not be changed. Once you have given me your item, I will not go and change a reserve, add a buyout, etc. So make sure your info is complete and correct when you turn it in!
- There will be no fees or commissions charged.
- DO NOT GIVE ANY ITEMS TO *ANYONE* UNLESS YOU HAVE CONFIRMED VIA ICQ THAT IT IS ME!
How to bid
- All bidding will be done via bulletin boards.
- Minimum bid is either 1m or the item's reserve price. If there is a reserve set, please don't bother bidding below that amount.
- Minimum bid increment is 1m. All bids should be in million-gold increments - no 101.25m please.
- All bids must include your bid, prominent name, and ICQ contact number.
- Payment must be made on Izumo. If you need to pay on another shard, please contact Brian to see if it is possible.
End of the auction
- The Traders' House auction will end at 11 pm EST on Friday the 12th of December.
- The 10 minute rule will be in effect, per item.
- I am the only person with access to the auction house. After the auction, it takes time to finish everything out. Please do not contact me for gold or items; I will contact you when your items and gold are ready for pickup. Note that this likely will not be until Saturday, due to the lateness of the auction's close.
Abusive Behaviour
ANY abusive behaviour, including (but not limited to) harassing bidders, summoning harbingers, summoning giant turkeys, or luring spawn, will be grounds for your being banned from the auction house. If you are banned, you will stay banned. So just don't do it, ok?
