Its confusing me someone clarify please...

Every other thing I read about SA refers to it as a client, then as an expansion. Which is it?

Is it an entirely new client (like 3D, KR) or is it an expansion that 2D will have access to its content by upgrading their account info? (like SE, ML)

It is an expansion that is also coming with a new client, but 2d is still very supported for the expansion. Sounds to me like they are taking a lot of the good parts of KR and correcting mistakes and making them better and more useful in the SA client. I don't play KR much for a few reasons, but I do love a lot of the concepts started with it. So I'm eager to see what it's all about!!
