The crafting changes with SA are going to be a huge improvement. Something else that would be great is a reverse auction system. Where players post an item that they want and a price they will pay for it and other players can fill that order. (on a notice board etc) The system will take the posters money and put it in the item providers bank and put the item in the posters bank.
More details below.
After crafting changes are implemented people will have more specific requirements for items that they want and resources that they need this system should help that.
Public message boards/vendors where, for a fee, players can post contracts that other players can fill. The contracts could be for items with specific properties or large quantities of resources.
- When the player creates the order the gold for the price of the item and for the listing fee of the contract is deducted from the players bank.
- When the contract is filled the money and items would be placed in the appropriate bank boxes.
- The listing fee will be proportional to the value of the contract and will list the item on the board for one real week.
- The contract can be cancelled anytime before it is filled by the initiator. However the listing fee is non refundable.
- If the contract expires then all money minus the listing fee would be placed in the initiating players bank box.
- Different items should be confined to different boards.
- The boards would be located in shops best associated with the type of item on the board. (Tailor resources in tailor shop, weapons in weapon smith, armour in armourers, etc)
- All boards of the same “type” would be shard wide. (Eg List in Britain read it Luna)
- If possible boards should have a search option.
- If there is no search option contracts should be listed oldest to youngest.
- Listings for resources would be based on quantity of item X.
- Listings for items would be based on specified minimum mods.
- Artefacts and named items selected from a list.
- Maybe possible to partially fill resource contracts.
I can see this sort of thing being great for new players out to make money and get a start.
