That I got my invite to test a new online game called Ultime Online. I still had color in my hair... and hair.. at that time. Who would have thought that it would turn out to be so strongly addictive, much less last almost 16 years now. Congrats to the various Devs and players. That is QUITE the accomplishment in these days. I do not play anymore (forced myself), but still keep track of my old pastime.

Wow and for me it was around this time in 1998 on a trip to visit a brother in Manhattan with parents and my gamer brother for Easter dinner when I was telling how I had mastered Warcraft II, I believe. I was told how that is "passe" and now there is a MMORPG, Supremely Accurate swords of Vanquishing, Dread Lords who search you out to kill you, persistent world that continues even when you are not there :-O
I recall finding a game store where I bought that game book and within a week I bought the game at Bestbuy with the cloth map and pin, was a ton of money. Adventure began, and with a short 2-3 year WOW break it continues, lots of amazing memories from the first years, guilds, pk's, surviving. Funny all the stories and amazement, friends from Europe met at the Orc camp. Strange days.

I doubt anyone can call themselves a ''true gamer'' if they have never tried the best and first ever true MMORPG that is Ultima Online

How true .. UO was part of your life and it always will be. Congratulations. I can't see myself quitting any time soon. It took a great deal of strength to break the addiction. Best wishes to you always!

I started in 2000 guarding sigils for com factions while my nephew took a nap. OMG!!! that was so stressful at that time.
2001 My other nephew and I got our own account he quit when aos came out. Been 13 years for me

My god has it been this long already?
I first played a week after UO went public; albeit on a friends account.. I was 13 at the time, just going into high school that summer when I got an account of my own.
Im 30 now, married with a 9 month old son. Still paying and playing.
Tried Star Wars Galaxies when that was around, but nothing (and I mean NOTHING) is comparable to UO in any way shape or form. Closest thing that took me away from UO was Skyrim when that came out.. played that out.. and back to UO lol.

started in Nov 1997.. older friend had me take over his beta account when he could not make beta due to college. i was young... now 30.. just about 31. uo and i have had a few breakups .. due to rl issues... moving to the sticks with no internet... having a son... but im still active to this day.

I have played every mmorpg out their.. nothing compairs. Got my wife playing in 2000 when i met her in high school. made true friends i still keep in contact with. some i met. some died...

ill play uo till im the last man paying for it.
