I have seen more new players this week than I have in a long time. Every day I see 2 or 3 people running around with the (young) status beside their name. This is great to see.

However, the other thing I have noticed is the lack of support that new players get now days. There was a time when a player could get help at any bank, now we all tend to ignore them. To prove my point today, I stood at luna bank asking for a necro spell book, after spamming this for about 20 min. Someone finally took the time to get me one, they were willing to give me the book for free, and I ended up giving them a check for 1 mil. Maybe if we all took 2 min out of our game time and lessened our greed a little bit and helped all the new players we can find. I am not saying give them a mil here or anything but lets say a crap suit of lrc, and we all have them in the countless chests in our houses, it goes a long way to getting them started. Afterall given the state of the uo economy it will be years before they can afford to buy anything anyways. It may just make more people return to the game.

I've heard many new players in the help chat lately as well. I try to help when I can. Just wondering where they coming from though. Is EA advertising somewhere we don't know?

Maybe it's just your shard.

On Europa, I am constantly amazed to see the help being offered at New Haven by guilds and individuals. There's almost always someone there with a ready helping hand.

(Also, I don't think looking for help at Luna is something a newbie would necessarily do. It's hard enough getting any kind of response out of the crowd there).

The Help channel on Europa is also constantly alive with help requests - not so much for things, as information. I run off to resurrect people all the time after calls. It's a good addition.
