Those are the Enhanced Client graphics, although I wouldn't say they're the same size.
The main difference is that the Enhanced Client has unique graphics and not the generic dra gon m esh with a white tex ture like 2d.
Golems are that size.
You also have to realize that the Enhanced Client allows for much larger resolution than the 800x600 the 2d client only supports. When you pan out as far as the OP did in his pi cture, everything looks smaller.
It is pretty weird to be seeing that. Maybe its just a bug?

For some unknown (to me at least) reason, items in your backpack, bank box and stable are displayed in that hall. It seems to be just a display bug, but a scary once since when you CTRL-ALT, the handles are functional for pseudo-items in your backpack.

During the beta, when you ran down that hall, you could often see the names of people hanging out in the "moongate room" that you reached via a portal in Haven. It might be interesting to go to Haven the next time that happens and see if any of those creatures are hanging out in front of the bank.

There are other places that have similar "effects" like the Yomotsu mines. This problem existed with KR and was carried forward with the EC client.
I recognize half of them critters...

This was happening to me in the Mines in Tokuno when I was trying to hunt down all of the stealable artifacts. Quite annoying when you have a few baskets in your bag already and then you see the object handle for them on the screen and go to check it out just to see nothing is there lol.

That's because that "moongate room" was phisically located just off the side of the map for that hall...
Anyway, I don't know if anyone could provide any extra info.. it seems to happen completely at random.
