Is there anyway to work Lockpicking into a PVP Thief?

I know that's kind of strange to do lockpicking for a pvp thief. But i was wondering because I would like to be able to steal stuff from stuff in town in the lockedchests. But then I was thinking i would need to work in remove trap too into this template. I already picked lockping as my starting 50 skill, and I really don't want to make a pure lockpicker thief. If not lockpicking which other skill should I fit into the slot?

So far I am going to have.....

Stealing
Snooping
Ninjitsu
Magic Resist
Hiding
Stealth

Or I could just 120 all those....... Any thoughts? Thanks!

I say definitely forget lockpicking. There's just no loot in it unfortunately.

Your template looks solid for a thief.
I highly recommend adding a weapon skill.
Namely, Wrestling because it's sweet for a thief (no weapon, no problem), or Fencing, because Shadowstrike will save your ass more than your can count.
You need a base defense so you don't get manhandled by anything that decides to target you.

If you insist on keeping magic resist, go ahead. IMO it is not needed, you'll be sticking to the shadows and (hopefully) not giving anyone enough time to paralyze or cast on you.
I recommend Magery in it's place for a plethora of reasons.
Invisibility, teleport, curing, healing, gates, recall, etc.

What shard you starting on?

I play on LA mainly. Yeah I'll probabily drop lockpicking I guess and do wrestling. Haven't played a thief in a long time. But I am looking forward to it very much.

Well there's nothing more exciting than stalking spawners and trying to get that rare scroll or replica.

I'm still waiting to get a nice replica, preferrably the Shroud from baracoon since it's the most worked spawn.

As for wrestling, that's a good choice.
I put Fencing on my thief a while back and don't know how I ever lived without it.
Shadow Strike is THE greatest move ever (for a thief). Going straight to stealth instantly for hitting a creature or player is a godsend.

Question - do you have to be in a faction to steal the new faction items from people? And if you can steal them do you have to be in a faction to use them? Thanks!

You can steal them even if you aren't in a faction. However, as people in factions buy their arti's, their name is put on that artifact as the Owner, and so therefore only they can wear the item. So, then you need to decide, after stealing one, whether to keep it as a trophy, or to sell it back to them for a small price.

Time for sleep now.

Lockpicking can be fun. If you get cart with it, it can get you arties from the level 6 chests as well. I have mine stoned, and use it when the mood takes me. It, after all, a rogue skill. But you won't have room for it on your template when you are thieving.
