I was thinking about how much fun it was when we had the "Nekid Gladiator Tourney" back when power scrolls were brand new.
Right now I am busy with alot of things, but I still think a nice player run tourney is way over due.
The "real world" recently lost Heath Ledger, who I remember most in "A Knight's Tale".
Every time I see a really good lance in a corpse I think, "wow, if we ever had a joust that would be awesome", and every couple of months I smelt down all the "would be awesome" lances and use the ingots to make sewing kits.
Let's face it, lances are worthless unless we hold a jousting tourney so they can be used against other lance carriers.
My thoughts are to plan two to three weeks out, allowing for players to make/get lances they are comfortable with.
My questions are these:
is there enough interest for players to participate?
if we held it in fel, who would be on security?
what kind of rewards/ prizes are players interested in?
who is willing to volunteer to assist in hosting &/or donations?
My ideas for rule go along these lines:
Jousters can only wear a cape and sandals;
No spells, buffs, or anything requiring a book in a pack;
a joust to be an double elimination, three passes one on one progression event;
winners and "losers" brackets pairing to be determined by rolling dice.
Many of us on this shard are not "into" PvP, but posses many other vital skills for bringing this together. Your comments and ideas welcome, and a way for none pvp participants to win prizes would be nice, too.
Some of our ideas so far:
Ally is saying that we should hold this in 3-6 months, after ticket turn ins are over, to see if we can donate a sorcerers suit as a prize.
