Is there a Santy Clause in 2014????

Since you have not gotten any responses, I thought I would put this together for you....

I am currently an Adventurer on the boards as of Dec 2014. Some of my on-line friends say that there is no Dev Santa Claus. Many say "If you see it in the Stratics Forum, it is so." Please tell me the truth, is there a Dev Santa Claus?

Your little on-line friends are wrong. They have been affected by the skepticism of a skeptical age. They do not believe except what they see. They think that nothing can be which is not comprehensible by their little minds.
All minds, mghtyshark, whether they be men's, elf’s or gargolye's, are little. In this great shard of ours, a character is a mere insect, an ant, in his intellect, as compared with the boundless world about him, as measured by the intelligence capable of grasping the whole of truth and knowledge.
Yes, mghtyshark, there is a Dev Santa Claus. He exists as certainly as love, generosity, devotion and soul tokens exist, and you know that they abound and give to our life its highest beauty and joy.
Alas! How dreary would be the world if there were no Dev Santa Claus! It would be as dreary as if there were no mghtysharks. There would be no childlike faith then, no poetry, no role playing to make tolerable this existence. We should have no enjoyment, except in sense and sight. The eternal light with which childhood fills the world would be extinguished.
Not believe in Dev Santa Claus? You might as well not believe in fairies (which you know already exist)! You might get your Papa to hire guards to watch all the chimneys on Christmas Eve to catch the Dev Santa Claus, but even if they did not see Dev Santa Claus coming down, what would that prove?
Nobody sees the Dev Santa Claus, but that is no sign that there is no Dev Santa Claus. The most real things in the game are those that neither children nor men, elfs or gargolyes can see.
Did you ever see fairies dancing on your lawn? Of course not they stay in their spawn area, but that's no proof that they could not go on your lawn. Nobody can conceive or imagine all the wonders that are unseen and unseeable in the world.
You tear apart your new coffee grinders and see what makes the noise inside, but there is a veil covering the unseen world which not the strongest character, or even the united strength of all the strongest characters that ever lived, could tear apart. Only faith, fancy, poetry, love, role playing, can push aside that curtain and view and picture the supernatural beauty and glory beyond.
Is it all real? Ah, mghtyshark, in all this world there is nothing else as real and abiding.
No Dev Santa Claus? Thank God he lives and he lives forever. A thousand years from now, maybe 10 times 10,000 years from now, he will continue to make glad the hearts of children.

Jsut goes to show what state UO is in when the DEVs cant be Fcuked about Christmas.
there have been the odd em event on a few of the shards to be fair with the mega pixel drops in short numbers .....but thats not really the xmas spirit is it....just keeps the the few rich collectors that seem to get the drops everytime even richer.....

No cakes, no anything. Every year for many we have gotten an EM named Holiday item.This year nothing. That is okay. I have way too much UO stuff as it is. I won't have to buy transfer tokens either. So money saved!
What is not okay is not telling us the EM tradition had ended. Just say so, no EM items this year. Not saying so is cheesy behavior to me. I do not want UO to ever be cheesy.
