Is there a complete list for Peerless ingredients drops ?

When looking up for the various more common Peerless ingredients (taint, corruption etc....) it shows them only as drops from Peerless bosses (it does not even mention how many of them drop on the corpse, whether 1, 5, 10 or a range from 1 to X. Just say generically they they can be found on the Peerless corpse.... but how many on average ?

Anyways, it mentions no other source whatsoever for them.

Yet, I recall them as possible to be found also elsewhere like from doing Maps and perhaps Quests. I think also other monsters now have a change to drop them (not sure about this).

Shouldn't this information, that is the comprehensive list of all sources from which Peerless ingredients can be obtained from, be included in the description of the various ingredients ?

For example, say that a new or returning players needs taint for whatever reason, he looks it up on Stratics' within the items Catalogue but only reads that it can be found as loot on Peerless Boss Corpses. So this player is at a loss because perhaps he might have a treasure hunter or a fisherman and try getting taint in some other way but since it was not included in the ingredient file, the player would get no knowledge about it.

So, where did you find, so far, Peerless ingredients from and in what quantities ? If we pull up a complete list of their sources with the quantities they can on average be found, perhaps this info can be added to the Peerless ingredients files ?

Sort of, but if you look ad the details, it says "These resources spawn on the corpses of Peerless bosses. There are two subtypes: Those which are dropped in various amounts be any Peerless boss, and those which are only dropped as a single unit by a specific Peerless boss."

It only mentions generically that they come from Peerless corpses without mentioning whether, for the common ingredients, only 1 spawns or 1 to 5, or a stack of 1 to 10 or whatever else quantity...

Furthermore, I recall that in the recent years other sources for them have been added, like either treasure hunting or/and fishing, quests, and even the chance of them spawning on other Monsters.

If I do not recall wrong, I think at the recent Event on Catskills with Enslaved Daemons on sone of them (Hydra or Crimson types) these ingredients were also found hinting that not just Peerless bosses now have them on the corpse.

Basically, my point is that what is lacking here is a complete list of all sources available for these ingredients and this complete list should be included in these ingredients files so, that whenever players looksup for this info they can find where they can get them from, as in regards to their playing preferences.

But first, we need to sum up all of the possible sources for these common ML ingredients so, it is necessary according to our experience from where so far we have been able to find them in the game.

Unfortunately, personally I have mixed up recallections and I think I remember getting them from sources other then the bosses themselves but I cannot remember 100% sure to be able to set it on stone so, I'd rather prefer wait for other players with a better memory to tell their findings.

Thanks.

I've yet to see peerless ingredients in treasure or fished-up chests. They sometimes are on EM event creatures' corpses, but not always, and in any case those non-standard monsters can't be included in the list.

A wiki by definition has no all-knowing, centralized authority, and it depends solely on individuals' contributions. It's the Hayekian concept of total knowledge being distributed throughout society. The peerless reg entry is already pretty good, and if nobody's updated it after all this time, then it's a combination of two things: 1) there's nothing to add, and/or 2) nobody's interested enough in adding more. The second part means that after all this time, we pretty much know what spawns where, and barring a big discovery, nobody's going to spend his time investigating. Maybe someone deliberately doesn't want to share his happenstance finding that slaying a mongbat with an arachnid slayer at these precise coordinates when Felucca is waxing will spawn a Koopa Troopa, and jumping on it 20 times will spawn 200 of each peerless ingredient.

You can get the peerless ingredients from stealing from the exodus zealot. Including taint and even the rare ones like the eye, mane, etc.

You can also get the common and uncommon from the wooden box that falls when throwing a white net.

That's a good information, thanks for the input !

It is actually mentioned in their file within the Hunter's Guide http://uo.stratics.com/database/view.php?db_content=hunters&id=3385 (why there is no info on skills and stats of the zealots ? Most info on zealots are blanked out in the file...). Perhaps it would then be helpfull to also cross report this stealing info within the individual peerless ingredients files in the items database so that players looking it up will get this information as their additional source ?

Is it a rare occurrance as a steal or is the chance pretty decent ? Is it possible to steal them multiple times from the same exodus zealot or does one need to kill them and steal again from a new respawned one ?

As in regards treasure hunting or fishing I thought some publish back they were added to those chests, at least the highest levels ?

By the way, their file in the Hunter's Guide says they are to be found in the Exodus Dungeon which it makes sense http://uo.stratics.com/database/view.php?db_content=atlas&id=1001. Yet, the Exodus Dungeon file only lists as inhabitants the following :

no mention of Exodus Zealots as inhabitants. What gives ?

I thought, that existing players wanted to see the Ultima Online population to increase....

It is not so ?

Because if there still is desire to see more players adventuring throughout Sosaria, I think that every effort towards easing up returning or new players to "get their errands done" in UO, may be helpfull in this regards....

Let's imagine, for example, for the sake of this discussion, a returning player or a new player wanting to craft for themselves some Scrapper's Compendiums to get the slayers they need with them.

Of course, they will need ML ingredients for that, right ?

So, chances are that they will look up the ML ingredients files on Stratics' Items Database, or UOGuide or somewhere else, to check out their sources. Now, if the information on the ML ingredients files only lists as possible source the corpse of Peerless bosses, and they have a hard time finding other players to hunt them, and themselves have not yet the outfit to solo them, well, then chances are that they will have to give up their intention to make Scrapper's Compendiums or spend much gold to buy them which perhaps they cannot afford yet.

Yet, instead, in reality more sources have been added over the years as possible ways to get ML ingredients and perhaps, one of these alternate ways could fit their playing yet, they do not know about it and so cannot make good use of it.

So, having as complete information as possible is good, not much for existing players who may already know it, but for new comers or returning players to the game.

So, the bottom line is whether we want or not to help them in their catching up (and staying) with UO by providing and making available all of the experteese and knowledge so far aquired, as openly public.

At least, so I think.

You may feel free to edit the UO Guide entry.
The problem is not editing the entry, the problem is first knowing all of the alternate sources for the ML ingredients...... for this, it is necessary for players to share their findings.......
