Is there a cap on mana regeneration?

No but there is something called diminishing returns

Basically, when you get higher MR it does less for you(in proportion)

So say at 4 it doubled your regen from 2

at 8 it would only add 25% from 4

for example.

I believe the key figure is around 7 when the MR kicks in.

i'm at 9, imho diminished returns happen after 12.

There is no cap on mana regen - but it is all on a diminishing returns scale. Most players seem to believe that anything beyond 12 is better spent on another property... and any additional point beyond 18 is not a noticeable improvement.
