It gets a mention every so often, but there's been little to actually SEE of it. Of course it doesn't help when they keep adding in artwork for holiday, event, and reward items which only add to the number of art assetts that have to be scaled upwards (unless they are done in higher resolution already). As it is, if you have a program that lets you see the UOP file and/or the MUL files, you'll have seen that the took over the old animation test files to use for new artwork (most of which is in a higher resolution than the original batch, and there ARE some you can see the difference ingame.
I miss the old KR artwork as well, but I've also identified several KR art assets in the current EC done either as a bug or for some other reason which include the unlit wall sconces in Hythloth, the War Axe (a display bug that seem to happen occasionally), and lily pads in certain gumps.
I'm also still trying to figure out why Pinco's UI's scaling (i.e. if you scale the backpack to enlarge it and everything in it) is so much smoother and shows higher resolution detail than the ingame zoom.
I'm in the (admittedly small) group of people as well who miss the KR artwork. I would have been happy had they left it as the option toggle (and reversed the default to classic artwork) they had in the KR client in the EC... at least until the High Res project was completed.
The original vision for KR (before it was shunted back to allow 2d to be compatible for SA) is one of the reasons why I'm following Draconi, Supreem, and team's work with Shards Online.
