Just something funny to think about, seeing the discussion topics aren't exactly brimming with action these days.
I don’t know if this is just an issue in my neighborhood… but it's getting to be such an amazing drag just to order food. I don’t know if it's because soulless corporations are more concerned about designing what they think people should eat, or people aren't allowed to make up their own minds… but I’m wondering if this is effecting everyone everyplace.
You order a hamburger or a sub.
You know exactly how you want your food.
You order a burger with ketchup and lettuce, no cheese. Very simple.
The girl or guy behind the counter starts reading off a long list of things you don’t want, asking you for conformation each and every item, to make sure you don’t want the item.
“So… that’s no pickles?” ~ No.
“So… no tomatoes?” ~ No.
“You’re sure you don’t want onions?” ~ Did I ask for Onions?
“No mustard? Are you sure?” ~ GIVE ME A BREAK! :gun:
This goes on long enough to take at least 2x longer to order your meal.
I think it may have been Dane Cook, in one of his stand-up comedy specials… that was talking about how annoying it is when you order something at a restaurant, EXACTLY along these lines. He went down this long list of totally insane items you would never want on your hamburger, just like they do for real. I nearly couldn’t breathe from laughing! It's super annoying, seeing it happens to me almost every single time I eat out. Pizza, subs… you name it. Even one place I go all the time… being waited on by the same guy. He knows me, knows my face… I can order the same exact thing every week, yet we have to play the conformation game. How much is too much? Hehe
I miss Roy Rodgers… give me the burger, pay and go to the “fix’ens” bar. EAT!
