Is high Lore bad when training Taming?

I was told my lore should be lowered when working taming in order to get better gains.

But then I read that Lore has no effect on your success rate.

Can anyone tell me which statement is correct?

If you keep your lore lower, then it *may* affect your GGS timer. Anything besides that is purely theoretical.

The second statement is true.

The two statements really don't have anything to do with each other. The first statement talks about gain rate while the other talks about success rate, as in the chance you'll successfully tame the animal.

Correct. And if you're worried about gaining the fastest you can, take all of the skills but the taming off. That will get you the fastest GGS.

Well the GGS will be affected by your overall skill points used, but it really depends if you want to hunt with that tamer while they're training up. If you're happy to be taming and nothing else, then don't worry about lore. However, if you want to chill after a few hours taming and take out some pets for a small hunt, you'll need lore and vet.

I might make a younger tamer do nothing but tame for a while, but I've always soulstoned lore and vet on to another character once they got high enough to affect gains, then they're trained and available for the character if you want to hunt for a week.
