so i was moving stuff around in my house tonight and my commodity deed chest dropped through the floor onto the ground.

this has happened to me before, so it wasnt too surprising.
last time i just paged a GM and he showed up 10 minutes later and bumped it up onto the floor for me from the ground.

so i paged a GM.
sat here for 5 hours waiting for a GM.
just noticed that the chest decayed.
and i have been opening and closing it the whole time so it wouldnt.
so, just lost a vet reward and all the contents because there is no GM to be seen anywhere.
5 hours???!!!???!

i know its a bad day to be at work for EA but really..... 5 hours?
i just cancelled my help request because there is no use now, so whos to say how long i would have been waiting.

kinda makes me wish when the peeps call me when im at work they would think that getting my ambulance in 5 hours would be ok.

doubtfull, eh?

but i guess with the week we are having its a minor thing.

Customer Service from EA is something disgustingly pathetic. I'd say close all but one account for three months and watch the other accounts houses until they just start the decay process, then start paying for them again. Enough people start doing this and letting EA customer service know why it's being done, it might get the customer service manager a blunt talk from his boss about his people not doing there jobs and costing EA a few months of UO fees over and over.

We have one mildy effective lever where EA is concerned, we can deny them our money for a few months.

You have problay 10000 people paging gms on the rollback. I have friends who understand how busy they are and not even going to bother them till next week for some items they got off the store and are gone. Gm's work in a cue and you move up the cue just like everyone else.

Years ago I had an item drop under my front steps. When the GM came, he said to use Ctrl+Shift and pull it up by the tag. You couldn't even see it under the steps, but it was easy to get with Ctrl+Shift. Would this have worked for your chest?

If an item falls though the floor, you can still grab it by bringing up its tag and grabbing it. Ok, it may take several tries in diffrent spots but you can get it!

Yeah i had gold box fall through my castle floor a few weeks back and I got it back using Ctrl+Shift and pulling on the Tag. Took me a while as there was hundreds of tags there and finding the right one was a pain, then i screwed up a few times, but i got it in the end.

But yeah trying to get a GM right now must be hard with all the calls made due to Atlantic going for a swim

I find it hard to believe there's 10k people total in this game anymore. Year after year of bad decisions, unstable staff positions, useless in game additions and poor customer service has taken it's toll.

As bad as it is, the past two days have proven to be the most populated i've seen atlantic in almost a year. Hang in there and keep working hard. There is no end game in UO so any positive action wether it's making gold or reforging armor is just another step forward.

no, i tried pulling up the tag right off the bat, then spent 5 hours moving all over and trying, didnt work.

and i totally understand that the GMs where probably buisy.
but i look at it in a triage way.
those, as you put it 10,000 people calling - well there was nothing that can be done for them, their issue happened 13 days ago.
so why not go to the people that are having an issue right now, currently, ongoing.
going to 10,000 people and saying "theres nothing i can do for you right now, thanks for calling" is silly.

at the end of the day im not gonna complain.
i could have lost a hell of a lot more, haha, but im just saying that they should work on the current issues and deal with the 2 week old issues in another way other then tieing up the system that way.

I logged in a few days back and found my mailbox wasn't there anymore. Why it decided to go away last week instead of during the prior month I've no idea. I didn't bother paging a GM over it has I knew it would be a prolonged waste of time ending in being told they can't replace lost items. <shrugs>

Look at the views in the rollback thread 15k so you would assume most of them play not to mention people who do not use stratics. It would be safe to say 10k at least still play

I have to agree. There should always be someone available to assist players with problems like the one you experienced.

I have to agree this is something that needs addressed. NO ONE should have to wait 5 hours for a response... Especially when it's something that decays. Customer Service isn't that hard to understand. Apparently EA still has a LOT of work to do in that regard. But we've always known that they could care less. It's been obvious from the start. I've had them contact me like 2 days later. 2 DAYS. I'm going what????? I did what????? OOOOOooHHHH Geez! That was like ages ago I don't even care anymore. I paged to see if they could move a monster for me that had spawned somewhere unreachable..... after waiting around an hour I figured I had better things to do and I just logged out and said forget it...

How long before we just don't bother paging anymore and just quit???

They were hiding all weekend and this week so far too I've paged 3 times about my soulstones this weekend not one response I pages Monday and Tuesday as well..nothing today I figure why freaking bother..

good news everyone!

i was rolling around tonight and all of a sudden a GM popped up and enter chat with me.
he asked if i still had that pesky chest under my house.
i told him i paged 24 hours ago and the chest decayed about 19 hours ago, but i thanked him for the effort :confused: and he thanked me for playing and we parted ways.

whats the good news?
they DO exist!
