Is a Bokuto a feasible Sampire/Whammy weapon?

Advantages: Fast one-hander with feint. Additionally, you can use Ash wood to give it 10% SSI, almost nulifying the need for HSL, and that property space can be used for other things (HLA, etc.)

Of course, the major disadvantage is very low damage output. Also, the 2 sec. swing speed lowers potential HML.

What do you think, would one be able to leech back enough mana to make this weapon feasible?

no, I carry one for ppl though not mobs :) you NEED a big hitting smack down of a weapon for a sampire with at least 50 HML

The answer is yes.

However...

You would only want to use it against the little things (Anything less than peerless is a little thing). And Paroxysmus.

In my original sampire days, I used wind's edge (tessen, very fast but low damage) against everything. It worked very well.

But the big weapons are much better.

Farsight so Doom, Dreadhorn, and Mel the bokuto would be a bad choice due to low damage?

Actually (and I'm only speaking hypothetically here, I haven't actually tried it), the bokuto may be the ideal weapon for Melisande, so long as it has absurd swing speed increase.

Since Mel slows down your swing speed, there are two ways of going about it. The first is to use the bokuto's feint and keep a relatively high swing speed with the bokuto. The second is to use your huge weapon and just joust her.

I still do Mel with a mage or pet and in a team, having only soloed her once (using the big weapon tactic) to say that I've done it. Soloing is better done on the Dread Horn, where your biggest, fastest weapon is your best choice.

Well one thing is for sure seeing some mods on the bokuto's lately has made me interested in making them. Just to see if I get similar or superior mods to them and if the actually can do some low to decent damage to certain spawns i'll just have to start using them. :) Pvp its obvious but pvm interesting.......

If you can get a bokuto with

50 HML
40 HLA
40 SSI
40 DI

Melisande may be doable.

I used to use one with 42 stam and mana, 10 ssi, and 40+ DI on Dread. I think I used it to solo Paroxysmus a few times too. Feint is awesome.

Feint is awesome, you can solo any thing in the game (mephitis, riki) with a good leafblade.
