They do mine ore.
Not sure how much taming it needs. But like the other beetles you need to beat it up a little before you can tame it.
They are in the back of Underworld. Take the right side , then go pass the entrance of the abyss to the right again. Then all the way trough till almost at the end near Navreys Lair. Best is to lure on to the fountain and tame one there.
