Trinsic Europa was up.
Me and another person were sitting comfortably on a pair of generals, when a captain wandered over.
On of the generals dropped, and the other guy had to go.
I was doing alright, until a lieutenant wandered over... Then another general... Then a...
Well, anyway, those suckers literally have perma-moving shot:(

ok, so it is just atlantic thats broken then :(
thanks.
It doesn't seem anything is "broken," the invasions can either be triggered by faction actions or by dev themselves. Over the weekend, with seemingly no faction play, Chessie had no invasions. Now that dev is back at work, they've began again. It's impossible to say which one, dev or players, triggers any invasion on any given day on a given shard.

Aren't the invasions totally separate from the Halloween events? Being the next chapter in the changing worlds of UO, right?
Yes, they are separate.

They are connected only in that they occurred at the same time.

And those of you who follow the fiction of the events, please note that the Crown addressed the Khaldun spawn (by putting that Guard dude on the case) but not the Shadowlord invasions.

Weird.

factions control this ??
oh brother, no wonder Atlantic is not having invasions, very few people care anything about factions anymore, and even fewer enjoy PvP.

i still think EA would be better off to remove PvP (as it is currently) from the game..
no one like to get ganked or griefed by some hot heads kid that thinks killing another paying player is the best way to have fun.

If you're not getting the action, you have to get with your factions people and get them involved.
On Legends, towns are invaded daily, we fight invasions till we just cant take it anymore
*laughs*
Atlantic probably isnt gettin a lot of action...not accordin to this

Oh my, another holier-than-thou character... Really, the devs have had a great idea in implementing a system that fosters cooperation and appreciation between different playstyles (I mean, when have you seen a pvmer say "thank you" to a thief?), and OF COURSE somebody who didn't even bother to read the forum for the last two months arrives and pancake about it. Disgusting.

lol @ you
i've always expresed this. not really much to do with the current event other than it supports something i feel should be removed.

i am also someone who has played UO since 1997 pretty much non stop and for more than a casual few hours a day.
i have seen alot change and happen in this game, and PvP holds no value to the game.
this is why trammel and malas where created. (easier to add than take away mentality)

sorry if your new and are young and don't understand complex things.

Here you are trolling, as you did in your previous message. Plenty of 11th year veterans that pvp. Anyway your wish might be soon granted, then we will see how much time you will be able to play the game without pvpers paying for it..

sorry if your new and are young and don't understand complex things.
Ad hominem spotted. You don't have any better argument than belittling the others? Besides, you REALLY think UO complex? *shrugs* I think that speaks for itself.

Can anyone post a step by step on how to trigger an invasion.

We have almost 0 faction activity on my shard so I thought I'll try and trigger the invasion myself. I got a stealth/thief up yesterday, joined a faction, went to the SL base stole the gem for Minoc, brought it back to my base and placed it...... but no invasion. I know I'm missing something, so if anyone can fill in the blanks or tell me what I'm doing wrong it would be much appreciated.

take the stone from the town and place it in your base...wait for about 4 hours and the sigil should say...corrupted by * insert your faction here*...take the sigil out of your base and return it to where you got it...rinse and repeat with all towns

Hey thanks for the reply, just one or two questions though. That's only true for SL and Min right, TB or COM can not trigger an invasion?? Also what if the sigil is at the SL base and I bring it to the TB base, I've done nothing but mess up the timing on the triggering of the invasion right?

OOOO! Check it! Lake Austin's in at #7, and we're a DINKY shard. Guess there's some faction action goin' on. :D

All the more surprising, though, that Atlantic isn't tearing up the list, since they're so much bigger...

It's really pretty simple....When the Shadowlords or Minax Factions own a city, an invasion is triggered in Trammel in that city. For a period of time, sigil corruption time is reduced to 2 hours (was....Crap I forget....Like 10? I left Factions before all this fun started, was driven out by trash)

When the invasion in Trammel is defeated, the Sigil is free to be stolen by other Factions (thus bypassing the normal standard of owning a city for 3 days).

For more information on the actual mechanics of corrupting Sigils, check the Factions board. Be aware, though, when you approach them that many of them seem to hate this event and despise people who weren't in Factions before it.

Now that dev is back at work, they've began again. It's impossible to say which one, dev or players, triggers any invasion on any given day on a given shard.

I joined the True Britanians faction and Chessie on Friday with some of my friends and I am afraid that we are responsible for ruining the fun on the weekend. We were busy learning about the stealing the sigils and controlling towns and ended up taking all the towns. By doing this the invasions stopped. It was not our intent to stop the invasions and we certainly didn't think that we would control all the towns on the weekend. If we had of joined Minax or Shadowlords, our shard would have had a lot of invasions. I like to play on the "good" side, but it appears I was actually spoiling a lot of peoples fun. I stopped after the weekend so that we can actually get some invasions and the Shadow Lords have triggered the spawns recently.

The thing that makes it bad for spawning, is that when TB or CoM take control of the town you have to wait the full 6 hours before the sigil can be taken and then there is 4 more hours before it gets corrupted and the town can be controlled by who ever corrupted the sigil. If it was the Shadow Lords or Minax then the invasion starts, it it is TB or CoM then there is a guarenteed 10 wait before an invasion is possible in that town.

If the Shadow Lords or Minax take control of a town their control may not last the full 6 hours because if the invasion in tramel is defeated the town becomes neutral. I am not sure how long the wait is to steal a sigil from a town that is neutral. I am thinking that it might be what ever time is remaining from the 6 hour control time, but I am not sure. The other thing that comes into play is the 4 hour corruption timer gets reset if someone steals the sigil from their enemy stronghold and manage to keep it for more than 15 minutes. This means that if the factions keep stealing the sigils from each other then no one can corrupt the sigil and the invasions won't start.

The bottom line is, if the good factions get control of all the towns, then you won't see any invasions unless one is spawned by a GM.
This doesn't make me feel good, because I don't like to spoil the invasion fun, therefore I will make sure that I don't steal all the sigils this weekend. I like to kill the generals too!

Umm....Don't apologize for winning.

I assure the bad side wouldn't...Look at it this way. There were multiple accounts of people who entered Heartwood to do stuff (getting runic fletching kits for example), with no invasion. Did their business, left, and found themselves mobbed by demons, killed, and lost their kit. (Yes they should have insured it.)

So by owning the towns, sure you're stopping fighting generals, but you are also preventing needless deaths of both PCs and NPCs.

Also, look at the Chessie Faction roster:

http://town.uo.com/factions/factions_6.html

It's really quote active. Very good odds someone is going to undo your work sometime over the weekend. Probably multiple times.

The ownership period isn't still 3 days, is it? I didn't think so.

I believe it currently takes 4 hours to corrupt sigils and 6 hours to purify them. I'm still a bit confused about how the "neutral" status works.

Im kinda envious of you guys for having such active invasion going on at all times and being able to do something different...

Here in LA, Brit and Minoc has been stuck with grey NPCs for like close to 2 weeks now, and the hatred towns occassionally gets stuck for a few days on end... GM/bug support? Non-existent.

Sorry about Atlantic, but CoM's thief keeps taking the sigils. Keep checking on them, because occasionally Min and SL do get the sigils. So, it's not broken, our thief is just stubborn. In fact, you may notice, Moonglow gets the least invasions. Something about the thief's alt is in Moonglow Town Council... :D

But truly, the other cities she's not as diligent on. Keep checking them, they should be under invasion a bit more often.

Basicly if COM and or TB take the SL sigils...your stopping your invasion!
if the invasion is what you want! then i would let SL or MIN do as they wish with the sigils.....see here for more info about your invasion
