What did they do to Magery while I was gone? I cannot cast a single fricken spell against anything that can cast against me. I am trying to START, that's right START, the Humility Cloak quest line because I cannot kill a single Corrupted Soul because even a tiny magic arrow interrupts me. IT WAS NEVER LIKE THIS. I can't cure poison, because I get interrupted. This is silly.

Now I just got 1 shot by an EB. WHAT IS GOING ON! *edit* Apparently there are Elder Spirits that whoop ass in the mix too. Man I am not having a good time tonight.

Ok, lets start over. I was trying to do the Humility cloak quest and I ended up in Magincia by accident. I found a quest there to gather 5 threads of fate. I have been trying to kill the corrupted soul guys there but I cannot. I received one thread (not sure how) but then died and lost it. I cannot kill them in time, no matter the damage they cast this gate and bail.

To complicate matters, I am getting chain interrupted. I have Prot cast. I am running an all 70's suit and 3/6 FC/FCR. I have 32ms ping. I used to actually be ok at this game....

The gate they cast is you killing them =)

It's not really a gate they cast, it's their souls dissappearing - just means you killed them =)

The drop rate on the fighting ones (cant remember their names - the red ones) is terribly low (IMO) takes me ages and ages to get threads from them =)

Yeah, I just checked on my shard and Gareth is still in Trinsic. :/ (Directly NW of the docs that lead to Magincia).

Decided to keep going, cast Protection, and didn't have much trouble killing a corrupted spirit. Three fireballs and a couple of sword swipes.

(Tamer mage with Swords of Prosperity, seems I forgot to bring my pets for whatever reason).

A flamestrike followed by a fireball seems to work well. I'm literally just running around on foot blowing them up.

They don't even get time to attack me, the first blow redlines them and they just run away. :/

There are some that seem to do alot more damage than others. I just died and came back and Prot spell seems to work. I am not sure what caused all the problems. I guess you can still get rubble doing this?

Oh, yeah, there is some that seem to do more damage, and there's some that "call" all the others in the area to come to their aid (not actually call them, but seems like you attack one, and then you are swarmed by like 20 of them! LOL!)

You can't get the same rubble that dropped when everyone was running around destroying Magincia, but the quest guy gives you three different quests, ( you can do all three once on each character) and the reward for each quest is a bit of rubble. If I can find the page I'll throw a link in with the rewards =)

Regarding that, if I asked the guy on different occasions, he asked for different amounts of threads. Does that have any bearing on the type of rubble you'll recieve?

(That kinda sounds like a no-brainer "yes", but I always seemed to get rubbish regardless).

There is like 12 rubble grouped in 4 of type to each guest. The red named you just kill to get the threads. The yellow named you need to do a spirit speak near them to pop them for a thread. The grey named you need to cast exorcism by them to get a thread. Three types of threads for three quest.

Protection puts you at 0/0 casting but not interrupt.

Their magery damage is pretty low, but they tend home in on you and gank. Melee damage from them is more dangerous.
