Hey all, just curious to know if somethign is up with inscription. As far as I can tell, I can only make spellbooks. Spell scrolls are giving me the error message that I'm missing components, when I'm not. I'm GM and also wear a tali. Any ideas?

A note: LRC suits do not affect inscription. You have to have the regs on you to make the scrolls.

Edit: That of course is just a guess as to what might be wrong. Can't know for sure without knowing the specifics of whether you have a spellbook that has the spell in it that you are trying to make and whether or or not you have the regs on you.

Don't feel bad. I think everyone that has Inscription has forgotten about having a spellbook on them at one time or another.

I haven't.
But, my scribe is my main mage, with full spellbooks in all the colours of slayers.

If it wasn't for that, though, I probably wouldn't have thought of it...
After all, I did stone necro onto another character, and forgot to give her a necro book...

well i just lost Inscription. Had 100 pts 2 days later seen i had 29 do not know what happened to it.( never took it off that char ,never put it on soul stone, even checked all 6 other chars to make sure, gone) I ran out of scrolls trying to make super slayer spell books so i was gathering scrolls for a few days on other char. Never lost skill like that before. Now i am stuck with 80k scrolls.

Beefcake101, are you sure you didn't have it accidentally marked to go down while some other skill went up?

Did you mess around with soulstones at all on that character?

no it is showing locked at 29. I had it locked at 100. I took 120 magery off of him and put 100 magery on and a crystaline ring to give me 120 magery again. Thats all i have done. I keep all skills locked when i am finish building them.

Like there could be a message "you don't have a spellbook dumb@$$" or we're just supposed to guess what the mysterious 'component' that's missing is.... i blame whoever wrote the obscure message for all the confusion...

I dunno...thats...really weird. I mean, when you screw up you can usually figure it out afterwards. Losing 71 skill points is very odd. It sounds like a soulstone screw up, but you can't add one skill before you take it away. Well...maybe make sure your 120 magery is on the stone still, just in case.

If you were messing with soul stones at all, it was likely user error man... I'm sooooo sorry. I lost GM poisoning that way a few years ago.

Nothing to do but work it back up
