Incentives to pay less...

How about giving UO subscribers incentives that would lower subscription costs? For example: If you have more than 4 accounts, the 5th account is half price. This way, maybe people will subscribe to more accounts.

Or offer family packages, where having 5 active accounts for 1 year would be less. So, people would be willing to run 5 accounts or more with the incentive that it would not cost full price.

Also, how about a time incentive? If characters are active for so many hours maybe they could earn a small incentive or time reward.

I like the idea. It IS not cheap to have something like 5 accounts running...which is why i just have 1. If there was an incentive even like 25% off per month on 2nd account i'd go for it....

Playing incentives , like time.. is a good idea aswell..... get back all those old tymers just aging their accounts and rares, back into the game and playing again

I know there were some free online games that had something similar to that concept. You could play the basic game for free, but if you wanted better items then you had to pay. They could have it so that the base rate is X$, then if you wanted to own a house or wear faction items, arties, ect. then that would cost a little bit more for each option.

Pay for two accounts, third one is free!

(Of course I have three, why do you ask?)

Why not just let us log in multiple characters from the same account?

I kinda dig this idea.

I would love a second house and maybe a second account to make some mule characters. I just can't afford to spend $20/mo vs. $10/mo (for 6mo). If the second account was 50% or even 25% less... Or, if they let me get a second home for an extra $3 a month, I'd totally snap that up.

Getting a discount on multiple accounts would be a good idea. Even if its just 25% like others have said. I know people who have 10+ accounts and they had to scale back because of cost. If there was a discount those accounts would be back. I am not sure that they would go for this though, I could be wrong but I don't think i've ever seen a price drop or price break in UO.

The 5 account idea sounds fine though in EA's case i would not give a reduced fee but hand out a free item to get the same cash.

True, never thought of the free item idea. Then EA wouldn't being losing anything money wise.

TBH, F2P would probably, in the long run, work better for us as players. There is more of a concern to release regular, not buggy content in order to keep players happy. That way they couldn't simply rest and their laurels and provide content at a snails pace that hardly any players asked for anyways (an entire publish around an insurance gump maybe 2-4 people ever asked for? Really?). They'd actually have to keep a keen ear to the wants and needs of the community.

Heck, Runes of Magic has daily sales and almost weekly patches, and D&D's content has been churning out quickly as well.

Heck, with just 2 accounts, I'd love to see this. The accounts are on the same CC but just a month apart on the 6-month cycle.

I'd be willing to pop a full solo month pay to synch them to the same billing if I could net 5-8% discount simply due to 2 or more accounts held. It's the no-break-no-matter-how-many-accounts attitude that discourages me from getting more on the books. I could deal with about 2 more accounts.
