inactive character deletion?

Hi, I played uo a million years ago and I was wondering if my character will still be there if I reactivate. When I log into MyUO it says I don't have any characters.

As long as your account hasn't been hacked they should still be there. If your characters are very old I doubt they would still be in MyUO and maybe someone else can answer this but I don't think MyUO has been all that well maintained, if at all, so I wouldn't trust it. But maybe I'm wrong about that.

Actually, my account was made in December 1997 and I quit around 1999, didn't come back until 7th Anniversary or so, and all of my chars were gone.

So depending on how long ago you stopped playing they may be gone. I had a 7x GM Mage on Lake Superior.

That being said, the game is much easier than it was as long as you're not on Siege. Its not hard to skill up now, although getting scrolls can be a pain.

Lots of shards also have some really nice vets who give great warm welcomes to returning and new players.

I stopped in 2003. I have all my chars. I just logged on Napa Valley and I've been running aroudn everywhere and I can't find a single person. And all these house spots everywhere wtf happened to the game lol?? I heard people talking in the lower left of my screen but I don't know how to talk to them.

i have an old character on my character select screen that doesn't work when i try to enter the game with them
i believe its a very old character from 1997
it just freezes at entering britannia and no matter how long i wait it never does anything
ive tried on both the 2d client and the new client
im wondering if maybe it got deleted or corrupted on eas servers but for some reason is still in my list of playable characters?
anyone else have a stuck character like this or know how to get it fixed?
does anyone know if at one point in time UO did an "attention: inactive characters will be delete if not logged on by this date" type thing? i vaguely remember something like that
anyone know the history of that?
maybe something messed up and my character didnt get transferred to their new servers or something

all my other characters work fine

It sounds as if that character is 'black holed'. The way to handle that is usually to page a GM on another char on the same shard. Tell them 'my character [name] appears to be black holed, I can not log in with it. could you help please?' I had that problem when I ran into a very highly decorated keep once. The GM told me to log in with it and he snatched it into jail as soon as it appeared, got me out of there.

About the same story for me. Played from 97-00, then came back last December. EA support helped me recover my old account (had forgotten username and password!) but all my characters were gone.

I was gone for approximately 4 years or so at one point, and when I came back all my main characters were there, but the less developed characters had been deleted (unless my memory is faulty and I did it myself). But I was gone from approximately 2002 - 2006.
