Lets say someone was to decide it would be funny if people blew themselves up in pvp. Lets say that, in theory, that certain someone was to watch fights and deaths whithout being visible, and could see ghosts run off for a res with his ganksquad running off looking for someone else.

Lets just say - in theory - that dead person had a trapped box on them and that someone nearby who had been watching the fight and been watching their ghost run off decided to open their corpse and take that theoretically trapped box.

Now imagine that person removed the trap on said box and replaced it with another sort of trap - an exploding one. Furthermore lets imagine he deliberately forgot he was actually a GM tinker.

Remove Trap 50
Detect Hidden 50
Lockpicking 50
Tracking 100 (seeing who is creeping around)
Tinkering 100
Hide 100
Stealth 75 (50 real +20 on legs + 5 on robe)
Spiritspeak 100 (seeing dead people)
Ninjitsu 120 (survival)

Suit = lots of hpr and dci (bah just realised dci waste of time without a weapon skill or magery and mage wep). I think I can craft in animal form? Pretty sweet. 100 tracking is more reliable in practice and if I do want to reveal someone (just so they panic and run off so I can do what I need to do) tracking helps with that reveal calculation.

Is 50 detect/remove trap/lockpicking enough for reliably removing trap?

I know this should be in the PVP Crafter forum but it's so quiet in there :D

"Sure........ I'll give you back your trap box......"

LOL.....

No clue on if this will actually work, but sounds fun.

One thing, though, is are't the trap types set when the item is made?

In that case you could make a NEW box, that looks EXACTLY like the other one (don't have the maker's mark used), and since IIRC the furniture dye tubs are blessed, dye it to match......

And, if the person's macro is set for the specific item (not item type), it will fail (though if they auto-count resources with UOA, BOOM)

Well I figured you have to remove the current trap first then you can retrap it however you wish (but I might be wrong there - test shard!) and put it back on the body no one the wiser say no more nudge nudge wink. There's an extra step though - unlocking it after I trap it.. or something like that. If it requires casting magic unlock it means

1) I need some magery no I will not use scrolls that's just recipe for fail
2) I will not be able to do the whole thing in animal form ready to flee

Still an if though maybe can use lockpicking I have no idea - to the test shard!

No, making a "trap box" involves multiple steps but the two main ones are:
1) Make the box
2) Install a trap on untrapped box
*) Misc steps here that I don't remember but involving magery

If you remove a trap from a box, you can retrap it... look up how to train remove trap.

As for the OP, you need 50 lockpicking and detect to use the remove trap skill. So 100% you need the lockpicking and detect at 50. But beyond 50, I don't think either help your chances.

On remove trap, given that trap boxes in PvP are made by super low tinkering(30 or less), I think 50 remove trap would work well.

So, in theory, you have a good idea. Whether you could survive long enough and if the box stays on the body long enough to pull it off is another story.

But some food for thought... might be worth poison trap over explode... maybe. *shrugs*

I would be inclined to skip the tracking and go with magery of 120 for defense. The reason being why bother tracking? The moment you loot their body you become revealed as does anyone else in the area.

Plus, you mentioned being worried about not being in animal form while doing all this. You might verify that you can actually remove trap in animal form.:dunce:
