In the Shadow of Purpose...

The T2A entrances from Sosaria don't line up with their location in T2A at all. They make no sence in the way of walking to an underground area.

-Could be because the caves are simply supposed to represent a much longer journey.
-Could be that there are magical portals we can't see, or some twisting of "reality", to take us to those location in the Lost Lands.
-Or could be that it is indeed another facet, using this magical travels as above.

But since the Lost Lands were re-created with Trammel, it seems more likely that they are part of Sosaria's facet and not a separate facet.

Another unsolved mystery. Meaningless, but I wish it wasn't.

Or, all of that could be wrong and T2A isn't a facet, but just a deep cave with an artificial night/day cycle like everybody first assumed it was.

Since this was explicitly stated in the original Second Age fiction, yes!
But usually, these bits of information are related to us as the offerings from NPC characters. They could be wrong, couldn't they?

Yeeeeeeees... But why would they? If its Joe Farmer, relating his experiences as a tall tale - then possibly. Why would the CrawWorth Expedition members lie about the entry into the Lost Lands, or the land itself?

From the journal of one of the surviving expedition members:

Day 2 -- The journey through the cave was not far, and we've now arrived on what appears to be a new land. None who travel with us has seen such a place before. We are in what appears to be a small village, though some of it appears to be in ruin.

The smell of the area is somewhat stale, as though the wind avoids this part of the land. There is light enough here to see, and we've doused the torches that we lit to travel through the cave, but it's impossible to tell where the light is coming from. I can not see the sun.

UO history is fun, but when the 'facts' as presented don't fit your theories you shouldn't start spinning conspiracy theories 'just because.' Go with the history, don't let the flubs over the years become more than what they are...

See, this is why I get a little testy sometimes. This is an insult.

Even if the Lost Lands are in an underground cavern, that does not necessarily mean they are not on a separate facet.
I have agreed that they seem more likely to be an underground part of Fel and Trammel, I've changed my mind and agreed with that thinking. I have also pointed out why they don't have to be.

So lets let go of the insults, ok? I'll accept that you don't agree with me. But not these snide comments.

Uhm, no. You are choosing to take it as an insult. Had I called you crazy or delusional, that would be an insult. But notice I didn't do that... Stop taking things so personally Trebr.

Oh you don't mean that.

The compliments are appreciated. You know I respect you too. We're just both a little edgy. Lets drop it and try to move on, agreed?
Agreed. :) Moving on...

Back to the original point of the thread...

Where's mah fiction that explains why I'd support one side or the other?

I have not had the time to read all of the replies in this thread so, forgive me if this was already answered.....

I am getting confused, as to which side to back : whether the Ophidians or the Bane.

I mean, I have not clear where either choice will take me (and the shard I play on) to.

Furthermore, I read of rewards and quests offered upon reaching 2,000 loyalty with either faction but it is unclear to me what such rewards would be and whether or not they differ between the 2 factions.

Therefore, I have hard time figuring out which way I prefer to back.

So far, the only one thing I seem to understand is (am I wrong ?) that in order to tame the new Bane Dragon tameable (moreless the same power as a Dread Warhorse) one needs to back the Bane Faction (at least to get the food to bond the dragon).

Does anyone have clearer ideas as to what would be the pros and cons of backing either faction ?

Thanks.

Well, we have these men and their tamed dragons. They are the "chosen" of someone, maybe the chosen of "the Bane", or maybe that's just a name.

My question is, do these guys remind anyone else of the Crimson Dragons? What happened with that anyways? I know that the Platinum Dragons showed up, were the Crimsons defeated and what happened as a result? Are they done for?

We know nothing at all about these Bane Chosen.
