Long time player. Sonoma was his home shard. If you do a search with his name for all his posts you will feel as if you knew him all along. Hope you can make it. He was a great person. It was funny, last year I was on Lake Superior and searching around on vendor search, and I came across an AoS rose "Drakelord Helped Usher In The Age Of Shadows". I immediately bought it, and messaged him letting him know I found his rose. I moved it to Atlantic and dropped it off in his mailbox, and he confirmed he received it. I hope that made him smile a bit.

ive always had good dealings with Drakelord.
im sure he is digging up a Trove chest or fishing up some trouble somewhere where the ping is low and the lag is nonexistent.

This makes me sad, he was a good guy and helped me keep the Chessy Morning thread going. He had surgery and then dropped off during January and I was worried that something had happened. RIP Drakelord

He went by Drakelord and Cat Musique on this forums.
If you ever went to the meet and greets, you would have known him. He was always asking for a moongate at West Britain Bank. He was the winner of the design contest there. (Mesanna had told Lady Darkstar 10 years ago, at a meet and greet, that if the original owner would ask for it, that they would put one in.)
Lady Darkstar gifted Drakelord and his wife 6 month game time codes in May of 2015. And he has been back ever since.
He never got his gate at WBB but he did get back the stablemaster that was placed years ago (sea serpent)
(it's located at the Sonoma tower of Sorcery)
when me and my husband returned earlier that year, this is the first place I would recall.
(I never had to worry about my runes being blocked there)
the banker wasn't there when i returned but Drakelord swore when he returned it was.
(And he asked quite a few times at the meet and greets, to get the mongbat banker to return. He actually demanded the return at Governors meetings)
He was very stubborn at times but he was a great friend. Several times over the past 10 years, I would tell him that he was the dad that I wished I had when growing up. His wife would often have an open mic (in Ventrilo and then later in Discord) and we could hear their interactions. And how he would speak about their children and grandchildren. He really loved his family.
when we would go do Find the DJ, followed by Deal or No Deal, sometimes people would ask if he was my husband. He would always go sit beside me and then he started wearing Poppie White. And he even would use a pixie costume. I always giggled out loud and thought to myself "He's my dad" haha (then i would tell them that my hubby doesn't come that often and that he is a friend)
I believe he became the Governor of Moonglow in 2017. I forget the name of the first governor but after 1 term he switched to Dezerai. And he left office sometime in 2023. PAS (People's Army of Sonoma) would have a better idea of the dates, because he posted on their forums all the time.
I haven't had much interaction with him since I left PAS at the end of 2023. The drama that he co-created was very hurtful. Since then, I usually only speak with the guild members, if they speak first. So I had no idea how bad his health had gotten. I was very heartbroken when I read about it.
I didn't know him but when I hear about these tragic events he always feel a little pain too

someone just made a joke on discord about making a cook tamer.
this made me think of when I first started playing, when my cousin made a poison cook.
Then it made me think of when I started, about how i would pick stuff off the ground.
I once picked up a crate at Brit Bank and was using it to store stuff in. This was before the decorating contest.
I had a whole bunch of stuff in this crate and when I opened it I died!!!
I hopped on the teleporter to take me to the ground and ran to the healer to get rez'd. I came back and got my body.
I then opened the crate again and died again. I didn't even know that was possible. (I was playing after everyone I knew went to bed)
Crazy part was, I couldn't get off the bank roof. I got the message about you cannot do that when you are dead, when I tried stepping on the teleporter. I called out in general chat for help and all i got was "Noob" (I had no idea what that was either lol)
And me being in the city, I couldn't use the Help stuck option lol
I stood around as a ghost and watched my body turn to bones. And then my body disappeared.
I logged out then and didn't log back in for two days.
then I was introduced to ICQ and was told that if it happened again to send a message lol

I found out about 5 years ago... that Drakelord mentioned that during his "King of the Hill" days, that he used to drop trap boxes at Brit bank. And he said he would laugh every time he would hear people die. I laughed so hard when I told him that I was one of his victims. Only thing is, that he never got to see me die lol
PAS used to have "King of the Hill" events in fel. He actually had them to do it once after he came back in 2015. I didn't attend because I'm not a pvp'er. And I'm not really sure what all the rules for it was.
I just thought this was a cute little memory. And he really taught me not to pick up everything you saw on the ground lol

Oh no! I'd been wondering what happened to Cat Musique on our Chessy forum. Had no idea why we hadn't seen any posts from him recently.
Drakelord was such a good person and will be missed by many. Thank you for letting us know. Heartfelt sympathies to friends and family.
