I'm in the process of putting a small library together, which along with a variety of runebooks, I would quite like to obtain and feature some of the many in-game "written" books.

For example, I have "The Book of Spirituality", which describes the virtue and the mantra to be spoken at the shrine. I would quite like to get a full set of these to feature at the library.

Also, I have a few books such as "Logbook of the Empire" by Captain Hawkins, "Plans for the Construction of a Hot Air Balloon" author Unknown.

Having not been as involved in some of the quests and events as I would like to be in the future, I'm interested to learn the origin of some of these books, how to get more if they still spawn, or simply obtain as many as I can from other players. The aim being that the library will be open for people to come and read them.

Ah, you need to go and do the Axiom the curator quests at Ter Mur museum, that's where those books come from.

Others may be obtained, using a thief, from the various places that have bookshelves in towns and cities. You're going to get guard whacked; it's part of the fun

As for the other books, it gives me an excuse to create a theif then.
