Imbuing question(s)

I'm sure this has come up before but I'm lazy and now that I've done it, interested. When imbuing a weapon if you add slayer and DI, do they cancel out? The reason I ask, I recently Imbued a weapon with daemon slayer and maxed the DI however when fighting regular daemons, the damage per hit does not seem to be any greater then using a normal daemon slayer.
I had hoped that I could build a nice weapon for my chiv/fencer so he could solo balrons but max life leech, hci, dci, daemon slayer..just not cutting it. Any suggestions for a better combo for a fencing weapon would be welcome as well.

Slayers work the following way:
+100% DI if a Superslayer (like all Demon Slayers - there's not been "Daemon Slayers" in the game for about 7-8 years)
+200% DI if a regular slayer type (Dragon, Ogre, Earth elemental, etc.)

If you're using Chivalry, Enemy of One multiplies the DI. Prior to the Chivalry changes, it was a flat x1.5 (so that a Regular slayer + EoO hit the DI cap with 0% DI on the weapon, and a Super slayer plus max DI from gear would as well). Currently, the multiplier is skill-based, so that it might be x1.3, or as high as x1.6, maybe even higher. Fast weapons like many popular Fencing weapons have lower base damage amounts (before applying the STR bonuses that modify it before DI), so the difference between damage ranges are much harder to step up.

Example: A weapon with a modified base damage of 20-24 will do 80-96 at max DI. But, at 280% DI, the damage is only 75-91 - which means there's 2/3 of their damage ranges where you'll get similar results with either DI, and it will be hard to spot any improvement in play - especially since the creatures themselves have variable resists, and a minimum damage hit on one with a low resist might be as high or higher than the damage to one hit for max damage, but the creature has the max possible resist in that category.

Note also that with the faster speed = lower base damage, it means that Life Leech and Mana Leech give you much less bang for the buck with fast weapons (that gets even worse when you add SSI on top of the base speed).

Wonderful information, thank you very much.
If I'm understanding this correctly, for what I'm trying to do I would be better off using a higher damage weapon, adding best weapon and SSI (to balance out the slower weapon) to get the full benefit of both the LL and slayer?
