Since I got rid of my old account when I "quit for the last time!", I have started again after a few years hiatus on an old account (24 months) my bro used to play.

There are no crafters on the account and looking at imbuing I am feeling a little overwhelmed as I read through the posts... Should I train up to at least GM in BS, Tailoring and Tinkering again before starting imbuing? Which means I would have to get GM mining again and farm leather

The answer to that kinda depends on how you want to use it!

It is not necessary to have any other crafting skill ! But it sure comes in handy for making Raw things to imbue! but you can always Imbue loot or buy store bought,get from a friend etc! the difference to imbue is that exp items can go to 500 weight and others 450%!
if you are going to use it to supply your vendor ! Then I would say yes !

Main thing is, if I am going to level up BS and Tailoring, instead of smelting/chopping the gear up and reusing the ingots, should I unravel it instead? just trying to plan ahead as I create my crafter...

you should smelt just like normal! unless you are using runics and/or special mats!
to gain imbuing just make daggers (takes low resources) and imbue those with materials then unravel them!

Ahh that's right, the items you make must have magical properties... thus why you must use a runic. Alrighty... I will just collect the trash loot while out hunting with my tamer and just unravel and unravel and train while I have that... and I'll collect any gems I run across.

So far I have started mining and am close to 70, started at 35 yesterday

I know a few people who match that description.

Welcome back and good luck with the training. Oak lumber is a good material for getting the basic imbuing ingredient magical residue, which you can use for training all the way to 120 Imbuing. You'd have to have a decent amount of carpentry or bowcraft to work it, though.. I think 65? Someone can verify that, I'm sure.

I started the mining bit... currently at 93 mining and remembering the good ole "last object" "last target" macroes were a life saver

Then work on BS til at least GM

Then LJ tossed in there to start flecthing
