Like I said , you might not know. At first guess someone might think you would but that would be speculation.

however on an unrelated matter, it would seem people know what their guildmates are up to but its been a long time since I have been in a guild so I don't know nada.

Don't use the GMs to fight your battles? What kind of non sense talk is that? If you see someone script mining, you report them. Getting banned hurts them a lot more than an occasional death.

Guilds know if their members cheat/exploit/scam/are griefers. For all this talk of "quality," most guilds are willing to sacrifice quality for numbers.

Bear in mind that on this shard, particularly, it can be a mistake to believe that every character in a particular house belongs to the same person.

You only have to look at Yenji Yasagari's post a few days ago and see how many people offered him space in their home to realise that.

Terry and I have had up to 5 people from Europa occupying rooms in our home while they establish themselves on Siege.

I asked a friend recently about someone I'd met who was in his guild.

His answer 'I don't know, I've never spoken to him or met him in game'
The guilds are too big, they don't all know each other the way it used to be.

Yes guilds are too big. But I'd wager most or at least some people in a guild know if they have questionable members. They simply don't care, just like the shard simply doesn't care anymore. No more player justice. No more accepting only quality people in guilds.

the house belongs to a well known player in a well know guild, and this guild in question is well known for not recruiting just anybody.

Funny you should say that.... a member allied with TNT officially or not but is always in there house so I say an ally never less... renamed his character to Puffy I find this funny as hell.

So I am not sure who the person was you caught doing whatever but keep in mind that some people do go to the extreme to hide there identity and make others look bad...

A story for you.

Some months ago a less than scrupulous player thought it would be funny to create a character with the same name as a known 'goody two shoes'. He created an elaborate script which included casting 'incognito' and allowed the char to be seen, even using it to complete trades.

People who knew the original char well let it be know there was a 'copy' around.

Someone else, who didn't, took the char at face value and posted about 'well known and respected people who should know better using scripts and hacks'. All attempts to convince this person that the scripting char did not belong to the known 'goody two shoes' were dismissed as 'cronies sticking up for each other'. The thread got very nasty, with the accused person unable to defend effectively and be believed.

it has to be the lamest thing when people rip off other peoples names for the sake of griefing or otherwise.

I realized when people kept trying to talk to me it was time to change the name of the account I bought.

Which accts? Richy RicH was owned bye Dalton of LOD long ago

Gonthrax and UPS man still belong to him we just share accts. but he does not play UO anymore.

If you feel that's not right, I'm willing to listen.

But as someone who's been on the receiving end of false accusations (see my story earlier in the thread) I feel the need to be cautious.

As long as it doesn't include a direct accusation, I don't see the problem. What that guy does in his forum is his business, but similar pics have been posted here for as long as I've been on Siege. In fact, if I caught someone scripting, I'd probably include the accusation just for good measure. I've been on the receiving end of false accusations of an extremely personal nature. Quite frankly, I feel the way such things have been handled in the past is a huge joke. People in this forum have been allowed to trash the reputations of others, almost without consequence.

Remember how they changed the duped robes into monks robs? maybe if they just started dropping scripts in game for everyone. kinda like the music box gears. OMG guys i just got the pot chugging script off Coon holy crap! Stealther! quick get this to the bank
