I'm sorry but where are the Shadowlords? Last we saw them was server up, when is the half day going to happen? Is that UO time or real life time? If real life that really sucks. If UO time, then every 12 hours in game they should respawn? Current UO time is now 2:45 [middle of the night]

Well based on here and atlantic. 12 real hours from first spawn on the shard. And at server if there is a crash or maintainence.

Nothing is broken. They spawn at server up, and then again 12 RL hours later. As someone who has been keeping extensive tabs, I can tell you they never spawned at half-UO day intervals (that would be every hour lol).

Starting yesterday they spawned at:

EAST COAST SHARDS
12:30am (server up after pub)
7:15pm (server up after emergency pub)
5:15am (server up - regular time)

WEST COAST SHARDS
9:30am (server up after pub)
4:15pm (server up after emergency pub)
4:15am (12 hours since last spawn)
5:15am (server up - regular time)

[notice the difference in that East coast shards never had 12 hours up without maintanence]

Next spawn today is APPROXIMATELY 5-5:30pm your server time.

That's not the point. People don't pay to play this game for the eye popping artwork, or super cool 3d realm... They pay for the content and game play. Sadly this "content" will be missed by about %50 or more of the player base. I'm not complaining. I literally was one of two people on ATL to kill the first shadowlord when the server came up with the publish, but the point is the same, because of the time when they spawn most players will not get a change to experience this.

I'm not the one who's going to complain about events offered to us. But I probably never will see a Shadow Lord. It's not even about the robe. I just would have liked to experience this part of the storyline at least one time. But after serverup I'm at work, and 12 hours later I'm asleep.

Besides, it would be dumb to wait all day for a Shadow Lord spawn, just to find that 100 other players had the same idea...

I would have appreciated if they'd spawn every 12 in-game hours (which is 2 rl hours).

This is part of the Shadowlord's agenda. Psychological warfare in which we have to guess when they'll show up, regardless of the "12 hour timer". VERY sneaky and ingenious. They would've gotten away with it if it wasn't for those kids and that talking dog!

Wow, I just noticed the times they will be spawning on Napa and I will be
in the 50 percent who will be missing this event. Might be able to catch
one on the weekend.

Server up is scheduled for 5am. If you think your shard is experiencing something different, then it is obviously broken for you. Also remember it is 5am server time, which could be 6am your time. (but then I do not know where you live or what server you are talking about heh)

If it spawned just prior to server down, it would be safe to assume it would spawn 12 hours after that, NOT at server up...ATL is messed up because it went down twice and reverted both times. so...before server down means roughly 5, so that means they just spawned again....

They should just make em like the strangers and spawn every 4 hours from the time they were last killed. That way there is no static time and everyone gets a chance no matter what time zone/work schedule/real life stuff they have to deal with.

Server Downtime is 5am EST but can vary because it needs to finish the backup before it goes down. Server Up therefore also varies but can sometimes be as late as 6am.

Well...For me it comes up at about 5:40 ish (est) but server down is roughly 5am, usually it is 5:10 tho, but can be as late as 5:30. Either way it is guess work, lol. So basically Server up and 12 hours later are the spawn times.

Easier? I would say no...But it is no more difficult either....Why they set it up like this I don't know, but I guess to show "uniformity" between the shadow lords? They are all looking at the same time...of course with this logic it would be safe to say they would just randomly spawn all over tokuno all day long because they would not look in one spot, and certainly not once every 12 hours...oh well, I guess some parts should be "logical" while other parts are mysterious?

I've seen pics from Chessy, Origin, and of course witnessed it myself on Legends and its always just one guy at each location.

There should of been a turn in of many TOT drops or BR to get them to spawn like the Bone Deamon summoning. Just more of that timing BS like the high end stealables where the few informed advantage. The turn in should of been a special container gotten from a quester. Drop it on the ground in the SA lands and start filling it with bait. Once it hit 100 of drops and or BR a Lord is baited and everyone in the lands at that time gets a message. Just the container fillers know the exact location while everyone elso pounds the lands to join the fight.

I was using my bard mage as I had no clue what to expect in the way of minions, but the Shadowlord spawn alone, there was no other spawn to fight here.

I really wish they would spawn these lords a lot more then just twice a day as many folks are going to miss the chance to see battles like this. I did not get a cloak in the pack since I did not do the most damage, but I did get a mempo. Thanks for that at least! Now please let make these guys come more often so all of us can have a piece of the pie! Go UO time!!!!

Maybe their plan is to get everyone all excited about a creature that drops a semi rare (cloaks) to the top 3 and a tok arty then put out a token where you can click it and it makes this Shadowlord in a box with a hole in it and you just stick the sword in and it dies. Everyone who fights these rarely is in any danger. They should just give them away at some point or sell these tokens.

If i was a Shadowlord and a Dev told me i had to spawn 2x a day i would say to myself is that a RL day or a UO day? If there are going to be people there killing me in about 4 minutes tops then i am going to interpret the Devs meaning as 2x RL day

Not sure if it has been announced at how long they will let the shadowlords invade, even if it is 2 weeks at this rate that is only 84 cloaks per shard. That is a very low number in deed.

If I hadn't had 2 left over from the last shadowlord invasion I would be even more irritated.

Considering i will be willing to bet the server up spawn is going to be the same group of people, perhaps even the later spawn, those 84 (again assuming 2 week run) will still be mainly horded by an even smaller number. I would be willing to lay money that there will be 2-4 players per shard that will get 40-50% of the drops.

I am torn though, cause I kind of agree the items shouldn't be too easy to get but there are lot better ways of keeping it sparce and keep it fair. Randomize time and locations, it is about time to get events out of the hands of scripters and horders that stand in one spot and collect all the rewards! But if the reasoning behind the limited spawn is to keep them from being too easy, then they shouldn't have made the guys sooooo easy to kill.

Thank god for Coffee and vent, talking to people this early in the morning waiting for server up was fun, sorry no pictures as I was not awake yet, this morning battle was just as quick, I had bad luck again no robes, but did get two Tokuno minors, manage to log in, recall just as they were fighting the Shadowlord in the waste, got in some flamestrikes and fire balled it till that one dropped, then recalled to Mt Sho and got in a few flamestrikes and fire balls on the 2nd. The 3rd was dead when I got there.

Now comes the hard part, waiting for 12 hours before we see them again.

I dunno. I can't help but feel they have outdone themselves on this one. Usually they just screw something up that people have to deal with. This bit of genius has omitted a large group of people from being able to participate at all. That deserves some recognition I think.

I propose we petition for donkey statues so we can engrave dev names on them and put on display at the Brit bank for posterity.

I just don't understand the reasoning behind it. Why have an event that occurs only twice a day when players are going to be at work or sleeping? Why even bother? We had a previous event in graveyards that if I remember right was invaded by spawn every hour or maybe every 2 hours. I liked it a lot better because I knew I could participate when I came home from work. This makes no sense to me. I'm especially angry because a stealther around a seer took the extra cloak my boyfriend and I received too. I'm really disappointed.

What I don't understand is why there isn't much cloaks to give but thread of life/thought/fate can be farmed?
I didn't get a cloak in previous events, but I got threads. I assume that it makes me a loser and I shouldn't take part in the "fun"?

"fun" because the spawn time is oblivious and still you can wait for nothing because there's more than 3 players on the spot. I feel I'm going to get a "I waited 8 hours for the SL and didn't get anything" t-shirt.


EDIT: I spoke too fast! A shadowlord spawned at 15:30 CEST (Europa, The Waste) and...

I got a cloak of corruption and another pale orange pigment. I also got a flute of renewal (reptile) on a beetle while waiting for it.
