Illusion house supports ...

Allo all,

I am working on an new house, and though i've done many illusion houses with a 1 level basement (main structure on the second floor), and been able to blend the supports for the floor ... I'm attempting a multi level illusion house, and having issues feeling good about the upper floor supports ...

This structure is built on the third floor, with the dock being on the fourth ... the only thing i really don't like, are the massive pillars i have set up to support the third floor ...

Anyone have a trick for supporting a third floor ... while not having to use large entrance pillars? It works ... but would rather not have the 2 story pillars at the entrance ....

I have a feeling I'm stuck with the supports, as long as I try to keep the entrance in that corner.

Thanks for any feedback!

First off I like the way this is going. the only thing I can think of is perhaps put a fence up in the front low wall next to your high walls on the second floor real low wall and then try and make the the second layer more archey and decorative perhaps some vines to break it up... honestly that's always been the problem with illusions I wish they would lose the need for support we would have so much more awesome houses =)

Ill put some more thought into this and if I come up with any better ideas I'll let ya know

I was attempting just this last night heh ... unfortunatly with the odd placement I have decided with the main visible structure .. I cannot get the new 'fence' to attach to the building ...

I had one up with just the south and west edges having the fencing ... but wasn't pleased with the look ...

I did manage to thin down the pillars a bit, and looks ok now, but will bug the hell out of me til i get it heh ...

For the time being I have moved inside and am tweaking the inner 'basement' looks ... and I can tell you, getting a two story spiral staircase to work with my design is .. well frustrating to say the least heh. I had the stair built and looking awesome, then when I tried to place gozas, couldn't go down the stairs only up .. halfway .. heh ... using the curved stone walls seems to interfere with walking up stairs even when they are on the tile next to them ... ALOT of reworking that aspect kept me busy heh

The funny thing is, this was going to be my library ... so I was going to buckle down, and just make a nice simple plain design ... then I noticed I could make a dock ... then I got sucked into a spiral of "oooh, I can do this too" heh. I always go into a build with the simplest of plans .. and 9 times out of 10, I end up with some crazy, intricate, over the top illusion behemoths!

Thanks for the insight, I appreciate your advice, I will mess with the fence more tonight I think, see what I can get up.

Will get more pics up as I progress, really liking the inside, starting to come together into quite the dungeon-y basement ;-)

Any update? If it weren't for all these papers I've have to get done I'd ask to come see it maybe in a few more days I'll be able to...

Use the bamboo circle walls. There is one thats really thin and shows as a little stick. Cover that little stick up with trees. The Savage Floor tiles grey and yellow, whatever you put on top of them will show without the house loading.

See the little small walls. I'll have those covered with decorations. You can also try covering them with tall hedges and place the tall hedges on that grey type of bamboo floor. Thats what makes items show inside your house without having to load the house (Little trick I picked up a few years ago)
